Has Wilder been found out?

I’m amazed that somebody would think it was a good idea to resurrect a negative thread like this, probably started by a Porker that originated when we were playing poor and bottom of the league and stir up all the shit again.

It’s baffling after an outstanding performance like yesterday and we go 3rd in the League, couldn’t we just enjoy it for one day and bask in the performance? Some posters are replying to stuff that was posted weeks ago.

Are we really bringing this up again.

Its already been done to death and it depends on where you set your barometer for world class, excellent, good, average, bad, terrible and shocking.

Pull the red and white blinkers off
They are average players.
They are good players for us, at our level, whilst in League One and whilst being a mid table Championship club.
When we play to our strengths and everything is going well they look like good players, but they are not world class or excellent and never will be.

When things werent going well from November onwards in the last few months of last season Fleck showed that he is an average player, he disappeared for four months apart from an odd game here and there.

Their achievements throughout their careers has been decidedly average, outside of the Premier League and even outside the Championship.
They hit a bit of consistency in League One and carried it through to the Championship where most average players live.

As I said it depends where your own opinion of world class, excellent, good and average is
Fleck disappeared for 4 months? Now I know for certain that you’re talking complete bollocks. :)

Your view of disappeared and average are miles apart from anyone elses, infact you went on to say later on in this thread that god forbid if we were to lose Fleck or Norwood, the same Fleck who goes missing for half a season according to you, make your fucking mind up.;):)

You know exactly what I meant

It would be just our luck

Ebrell record signing - career ending injury
Dane Whitehouse - The one glimmer of life left after the firesales- Career ending injury
Brian Deane best player at the time - Serious Illness for several months
David Brooks - same serious illness
Paul Coutts - unable to function without him - Broken leg

So it would be sods law if something happened to Fleck or Norwood
Pal, I know you’re not a Pig but why on earth would you post something like that? Talk about bringing it down on ourselves. There are plenty of things in life that we all dread might happen but go unspoken to both family and friends. We just wouldn’t dream of saying or writing on an open forum ‘it’s sod’s law, something’s going happen to you/them that could end your/their career’ would we? It just doesn’t sit right, not with me anyway.

Does it hurt piggy? Does it hurt watching our "pub league" side systematically dismantle and outclass a multi-multi-multi-million pound squad, while your team of overrated, overpaid has-beens scrape a win against a Reading side that will be in league 1 next season? Does that hurt you?

If (and because I'm not a deluded grunter I know it's a big if) we play on 9th November like we played yesterday, we will destroy "fessi" and co in a way that you lot will never, ever forget, however hard you will try to pretend it didn't happen. We are lightyears ahead of you on the pitch at the moment, and the sensible few among you know it, however deep it cuts you.

It's actually worse than you think. He is actually a fan of United.

Make of that what you will.

No we haven't any top players
They've all left as my username explains

Maybe I'll change my username to averageplayersleave at some point in the future

Go to the docs and get a check for early onset Alzheimer's
The symptoms usually include, repeatedly bringing up a subject that has been discussed already and constantly repeating oneself

Point of order. You've not stopped repeating the average jibe since you joined. Do your symptoms include sadness and a need to wind people up?

His idea of average players tonked Villa, the atmosphere wasn't flat and rather than a wait and see game we went for it from the off. Of course he's going to try to deflect from that.

He's said he liked Norwood last season (seeing him where?) - obviously while Fleck "disappeared" for four months - which is odd because he said he picks and chooses his games these days.

WUM nothing more. At least Curtis's idiocy was occasionally funny (at his own expense). This is just sad. Oh, and average.very very average.

Have you any idea at all about other teams injury problems and whether or not they're any better or worse than ours?
Especially if you're going back over 20 years

Plus Deano and Brooks weren't injuries. No mention of Norwood contracting anything like they did.

Fleck did not finish last season well, after Coutts injury, he struggled like everyone else

So, is there nothing in between excellent/magnificent and average.

I would say a lot of championship players (including a good few of our own) qualify as being good to very good.

If your team finishes in the top third of the football league pyramid (and that doesn't take into account the lower leagues like the National league and below) you must be better than average. If you were average surely you'd finish in the middle third.

You're old, what do you know about good football.

All managers get found out. Doubtless every manager in the PL knows how to stop Guardiola, but knowing how to do it and having the players good enough to put it into practice are two different things. So, last season, without Coutts United commit more men forward to create chances. There's a lack of pace in defence so you wait until the defenders are some distance from goal and you play the long ball over the top and make it a foot race between the Blades' defence and your pacey forward(s). If that happened it didn't make Tufty a bad manager, he was simply constrained by his players' limitations. A better question is "is the manager getting better results than you would expect from the players he has?". In Wilder's case most would say "yes".

Yes, exactly the point I made
They have had average careers at League One/Championship level.
They might be world beaters to us but the career stats show them to be average

Because the Championship is average

Where do you rate the championship amongst the hundreds of proffesional football leagues worldwide in terms of quality and competitiveness?

Even in England, there are 8 professional tiers, we are in the 2nd, towards the top of it. Thats not average, average would be middle of the 4th tier (League 2)

Dont understand why he is laboring the point so much, when its quite clearly utter bollocks and the Wind up seems to be on the way out.

Which is exactly what we did yesterday.

Though some still get fixated about not keeping a clean sheet, even if their goal looked offside.

If none of our squad are top players - in your book. Then you will not be disappointed if they all leave in January.

Though why you have that inflammatory username when you now claim that we have no top players beats me.

'Has Wilder been found out?' It's more like 'Have Wilder & Knill been appreciated yet?' They could be the modern-day Clough and Taylor. Still basking in the events of Saturday, yesterday I started Danny04 's book 'He's One Of Our Own.' On page 13 he quotes B S Johnson:

'Always at the start of every match, often the only moment of excitement (is) that this might be the ONE match...where the extraordinary happens, something that makes it stand out, the match one remembers and talks about for years afterwards, the rest of one's life.'

The Villa game on Saturday was such a match. When was the last time we forensically demolished a quality team? Maybe you'd have to go way back to September 5, 1973 when United were 4-0 up at home to Arsenal inside 17 minutes? The night when Currie sat on the ball?
This game featured players many would consider 'average' - Jim Bone, John Flynn, Billy Dearden, Eddie Colquhoun - but we Blades, then as now, know the value of a 'sum of the parts' team.

Watch the Quest highlights. I've never heard more fulsome praise from the studio team. We could be on the brink of something very special...

Anybody who claims Fleck disappeared after Coutts injury a) doesn't understand football, b) wasn't at the games or c)has an agenda.
We dominated midfield almost every week, even the games we lost.He was the major reason. As for the Championship being average.Compared to what? Other second tiers around the wall. No, it's better than any. The rest of the English league pyramid. No, that's patently wrong: it's the second of eight tiers. My advice is :don't feed trolls, particularly those who don't go to games and get information second or third hand, or have some other agenda.

If you genuinely believe that, you're quite clearly a moron.

Feeding time over now.

Please don't indulge this idiot. If he genuinely thinks all our players are average and that the league is average, he is either very very stupid or on the wind up.

Either way you are wasting your breath on him.

I wise man once said;

"Don't argue with an idiot, as from a distance, it's hard to tell who's who."

I should heed that advice.

Average

AHH........VERR......IGE
Have a word with yourself buddy, and take a minute to work out why football is the world's most popular game, and why it fills a billion people with joy, hopes, and dreams of glory. You don't quite seem to fit in with the billion, or maybe you're just supporting the wrong club ?
Your natural reactions and thoughts are very negative , instantly turning people against you. Who knows, in real life you might be the life and soul, but on here you have a real talent for killing the atmosphere. If you're happy with that, carry on, but be ready to get hammered constantly.
One last thing, this 'average' league that we are currently doing rather well in, is the 5th biggest league in the world by all accounts.

Considering the millions of people around the world who play football I think that anyone who is good enough to earn a living from playing it is better than average purely from a numbers point of view. The Championship is also a league that many aspire to play in, & if you take the amount of money players get in that league is it an "average" wage? Really?

Sorry my bad :(

Birmingham 7/10 Best player Brooks Sub no mark
Millwall 7/10 equal second Brooks 6
Middlesbrough 7/10 same as Brooks
Bull

and

Shit.

Just deliberate wumming now. I remember BladesMad finally having enough of Len doing the same and 98% just started ignoring his posts. Starved of internet companionship and whatever fed his weird ego, the sad idiot just stopped posting on there.

True story.

Foxy and Linz just took a more proactive approach with Len on here and just banned the nob.

That’s complete bollocks and you know it.

Just because he finished it better than Bannan doesn’t mean you have to spout shite.
