"Norwood looked every inch a Premier League player, the Northern Ireland international, with more than 50 caps to his name, running the show".

£2m is robbery.

Had a tour around Windsor Park on Friday, the guide was VERY effusive about Norwood and things the move to us will be fantastic for all concerned. And yes, a steal at the price.

I thought this thread was going to be about Bert's business trip to Reading and taking in the pigs game.

What game was the reporter watching?

"Norwood had nonchalantly nestled a free-kick into the top corner from the not-inconsiderable distance of 35 yards"

Similar to Mail on Sunday:

'Mark Duffy doubled the advantage midway through the first half, easily holding off John McGinn's weary attempts to win the ball, to fire into the bottom corner from 20 yards with a shot that Orjan Nyland should have saved.'

And there's me thinking Duffs out-muscled McGinn. And shot from 25 yards. And the ball bounced up so it was a metre off the ground when it went in. And no goalie on Earth would have saved it.

I think she was caught out by the free kick (like a lot were, including their 'keeper!) and didn't see it again before filing her report. I thought it was pretty good overall though.

I thought Egan was our best defender and McGoldrick was my Man of the Match. We're going to have to create a new award at this rate. AFNMOM.

Today’s “i” newspaper had this to say under the heading “Wilder’s dashing Blades show up the flaws in Villa’s purchasing policy”:

“Money can buy you many things but cohesion on a football pitch is not one of them. Aston Villa’s expensively assembled squad came unglued at Bramall Lane on Saturday, taken apart by a Sheffield United team that is much more than the sum of its unglamorous parts thanks to Chris Wilder’s excellent coaching. After almost two years under Steve Bruce the gap between Villa’s riches and their current product is embarrassing.”
