Yes, he's a bit young for us
How many millions will we get for him ? will we even get what we paid ?

I'm sure we'll offload Leonard and spend another £500,000 - £750,000 on another League One player just so that the club can say they've done something, only for him not to make the grade

Amazing how many times we waste that amount of money as though it doesn't really matter if it doesn't work out

I see Leonard as more important for the team given that he is part of the match day squad, Johnson has all this to prove if he arrives, I wouldn't take that gamble. When injuries and suspensions bite Leonard will get a chance to start and then the place will be his to lose.

I see Leonard as relatively unimportant to the team. He's not been able to force his way into it on a regular basis and has featured even less than Lundstram. He was an improvement over Woodburn v Norwich and that's the first time I've seen him and thought - "he did ok there". I look at the lad and think, he's quite a strong lad with a good physique, but he doesn't assert himself on the game enough for me. I think he's been a disappointment tbh - particularly considering the long courtship that ensued to get him.

I don't know if Johnson will be better than Leonard but I don't think that's much of a gamble tbh.

I think Lenny is history tbh. Good luck to the lad. Didn't work out for him here - but he'll live to play another day.

Problem here is:
When Coutts gets back - we're all willing him to be the same player, time will tell.
Johnson is the same gamble as any of the other recent signings and we're off loading them in spades at the moment.
This elusive forward, the only ones who have excited have gone elsewhere, or are still sat in Chelsea's reserves. All the others haven't shown any form for at least a year.

I can see mileage in this though but wouldn't want it to happen unless there was a real upgrade coming and not just replacing like with like again.

I think Leonard has moved above Lundstram in the pecking order now.

Got 7m and they will stretch to 10% of that for his replacement?

Jog on!

Think it would be a mistake to sell Leonard just to get Johnson on loan. Especially when players like Saville are worth 7 mill.

I don't think selling Leonard will have any bearing on Johnson coming. I know one or two media outlets have suggested that but I would imagine if Boro sign Jason Puncheon which is expected before the deadline that we'll then be able to sign Johnson. The Savllle and Leonard deals are connected because Millwall want to sign a replacement for Saville before letting him go but don't think that will affect anything with our incomings, other than we have some more money coming in which all helps.

That's how I see it but maybe I'm wrong Mojo!

It really matters which section its in NOT !!!!!!!

Sky sports do facts not rumours

We shouldn’t need to get rid of Leonard to bring anyone in, anybody suggesting that is wide of the mark and Wilder has stated so on so many occasions.

Keep Leonard, he’s someone who will prove very useful.
He’s a candle in a power cut. No disrespect intended btw.;)

When you put it like that 'fuck em!' Keep Leonard just because it stops them getting their way (and leaves us with a good team/squad player just starting to look the part).
When we were in League 1 we signed Hanson to screw up Bradford, now lets keep Leonard to piss off both Millwall and Middlesborough!

Just to possibly add a bit of cred to the report/rumour. I work with a Millwall ST holder who was gutted when we signed Leonard, he was convinced they were about to get him and has been in my ear hole all August about how he's coming to them. Just sayin...

1.5 to 2 mill I believe, i.e an absolute bargain if Saville is indeed going for 7

Norwood is a baller. One of those guys that it doesn't matter where he is or what he's doing, if there is a ball he would get involved.

We are well stocked in central midfield with Fleck, Norwood, Coutts, basham and lundstram for the two spots behind the no ten of Duffy or Woodburn.
If we had the option to move one of them on it would in my opinion be lundstram but life is about dealing with the here and now. I do not think wilder is thinking of a central midfield player to replace Leonard, but a ball carrier, a guy who can get beyond people and he seems to see that in Johnson. Subsequently appears that the only way to lever him from Middlesbrough is if we let Millwall have Leonard and they release saville to Middlesbrough.
We get a different type of player, I doubt overall it will cost us any money and it does not weaken the first choice eleven

Saville to boro if we let Millwall have Leonard but we get fletcher. Not bothered about the lad Johnson to be honest. Has a January type signing feel to it

Then why didn't we offer £5m for him and 'show we have some ambition'

Double our money offer on the table
If this is true which I don't doubt and we can get fletcher and or Johnson out of boro too then great, its a no brainer and another Wilder masterstroke. If it doesn't happen and we just get a clumsy 32yr old Cameron Jerome i will feel really underwhelmed

That's fuckin unbelievable isn't it . How the fuck is Saville worth 3 times what Norwood is ? The games gone shit pot crazy.

Lenny is cover for midfield, right wing back and centre back. Why would you let him go. Not the greatest player but over a long season we will need his versatility.

A couple of years ago a small minority of fans said the same about a player who looked like there was no way on earth CW would keep . That player ? Chris Basham . Id keep Leonard .
