So you think the only player we could sign as an improvement on Caolan Lavery is Jordan Slew. Interesting.
Are you really that thick? It was tongue in cheek and I’ll say it a third time.
WHY WOULD WILDER SIGN SOMEONE HES NOT INTERESTED IN AND DOESNT SUITE OUR STYLE OF PLAY??
Please just answer me that one question

We should sign Jordan Slew as an improvement on Caolan Lavery.

And I'm not saying he was interested in them. I'm saying we should've been.

Big mistake if we don't bring a forward in and I'm sure Wilder is well aware. However; it's not 5:00 yet so you never know

It was just a WIND UP. Disinformation as I suspected.:D

2 players are now said to be coming in....assuming this isn’t a wind up :(

Oooo the Meltdowners aren't gunna like that ! They're gunna er erm have a meltdown over not being able to meltdown

Any names?
Prem loans: DCL, Alexander Sorloth, Lys Mousset Gary Madine, even Jon Walters at this stage.

Champ loans seem to be one in one out so a very difficult market.

League one and lower on permanent deals: Josh Maja. Kieffer Moore.

So we should sign anyone of these whether they are a good fit or regardless of if Wilder wants them because....... a select minority of our fans are ready to spit the dummy out and demand we should?

There it is in a nutshell. We should sign the players you prescribe. That’s the very height of arrogance and from someone who has so much to be modest about.

Signing a player for the sake of it would be a waste of funds I agree. Signing a player that's an improvement on Lavery, who will almost certainly play at some stage given McGokdricks injury record, is surely not a waste of money.

Im not advocating we pay the likes of Hogan or Fletcher huge money just to get them, I just think we will need another striker or we will be relying on Lavery who isn't a Championship player and hasn't even had a pre season.
But again, that’s fine as long as they are a good fit in the team

My Pele, there’s some shite there.

Kieffer Moore? Kieffer Fucking Hoofittome Moore. I really think it’s time to stop sticking pins in your Junior Computer Manager yearbook.

You know, there’s a point where the attention/embarrassment interface becomes overwhelming.

Some 'shite' yet all of it better than Caolan Lavery.
And why do we have to hoof it to him? Barnsley aren't a hoofing team, he does just fine there. He dominated us at Oakwell last year.

Maybe this is just me, but given where we are now, i.e. still looking at the last minute, isn't it strange that when Bournemouth came knocking for Brooks, that we didn't make more of an effort to take someone on loan from their squad as part of the deal?

I mean, recently promoted to the point that they will still have players on their books with promotion experience who are now not regulars, or signings who didn't quite make the grade at the top level but might still be useful at our level would seem an ideal club to borrow from.

In the Premier League so less subject to having to replace outgoings. They'll have a view now how many and who are not getting games. I see Mousset scored last night. He's getting on in injury time so far and not much else.

There must be some PL players simply not getting games we can get to improve upon Lavery as 4th choice.

I've never known anyone come out with such bollocks as you on a regular basis with no substance to any sort of counter argument, you have no alternatives to the names suggested yet they're 'shite'.

No he's not.

Not to say I wouldn't want him, but Sharp is better. Same sort of age, Sharp has a much better goal scoring record.
Hemed's all round game is better, and he's proven himself in LaLiga.

I love Billy, but Hemed is a better player.

No. We should sign one of them as they are at best competition for a first team place and at worst better than Caolan Lavery. Simple as.

A play off chasing team which is what I believe we should be aiming to be cannot get by with 3 strikers.

He might be a better 'player', but Sharp will score more, which is the primary objective of a striker.

I would have liked us to have signed Hemed to have partnered Billy, but if we are talking of whose the best to get results, it's Sharp. Shame we missed out on two good options to QPR!

Hemed is not a better player but he does offer an aerial threat which we don't have and now we have somebody who can cross the ball I could see how this would have worked.
Armstrong although similar to Sharp is young and will improve more, I wouldn't have minded this as a move either.

No body knows anything except the club. If we do not sign anyone, I believe Wilder will have done everything in his power to get something across the line.

This. It's not like we're sat twiddling our thumbs. As Wilder says, they do their homework.

Someone who looks like a good signing on paper might not be such a good one in reality once due diligence has been done by those who know their onions. It's not black and white.

I agree totally, Sharp has that knack of right place right time.
Unfortunately Chris seems to like benching Billy from time to time so we could do with an alternative but they cost a lot of money.

And I agree 100%. Hemed or Wells would've been fantastic for us.
