I didn't want to start a wave of individual threads yesterday for each player that had a good game or we would have at least 11 of them, but I'd like a quick shout out for Deano Hendo.
It might mean nothing to a lot of you but off the pitch he seems like a passionate and proud young lad. From writting out the full lyrics of Greasy Chip Butty on Twitter the day he arrived, to commenting, liking, and writting about how much he enjoys it here.

Questions were asked early doors after we looked terrified of crosses when Boro mauled us, but he's got stronger and stronger.
He came into his own straight after making some huge saves, some exaggerated for tv but why the hell not!?
The one on one save catapulted him up in the fans ratings, and his full pitch dash to celebrate a late winner with the team agaisnt Norwich propelled him to a future fan favourite.
I read people claiming he was too small, not commanding enough, and even noticed ridiculous talk of Blackman being a better stopper.

I did have my reservations that he could "just be a shot stopper" and that he would have to learn on the job in regards to the rest of a keepers skill set.
The last few games have put my mind at rest and if he can pass the Bolton aerial test then he's nothing else to fear. He will come off his line, he talks and commands but above all THE BALL STICKS. He can take the ball out of the air at its highest point and 9 times out of ten he strongly holds onto it.
Being a youngster it is even more impressive taking into consideration he has been brought up in the "punches generation".

I think he's a fantastic signing for this year let alone if we get him a season or two after because he's only going to get better and better.
The kid has the world at his feet, and he now has a back 3 infront of him to give him great guidance and protection.

Good luck to the lad and I hope he becomes a fan favourite straight away.

Top drawer in every aspect. Only Norwood will give him any competition as signing of the season.

The only thing from yesterday that could need improvement is communication with the defenders, particularly Egan, when in positions where he could collect the ball.

You need to be very careful with all this positivity - some of our more mundane and glass half full fans will be telling you to calm down.

It's the same lot that realised about march time of the L1 promotion year that WE could actually get out.

Once again, we have key players in the correct positions and hopefully these players will grow into the season and start to make a difference.

Think the word is quality - well done CW.

UTB

Wilder has a way of cutting through the bullshit that is football reputations.

He goes for players with a top attitude and temperament.
I can see now why Wilder and knill raved about him when we got him .
Building strong ties with the top clubs at the same time.

Can't see moore getting a look in this season.

It's going to be a long season for Egan.......

Reckon there’s any chance of a Permanent transfer at the end of the season....

Seems to be a quality player and one that improves us - I know he signed a new Man U contract but realistically he’s not going to get a chance there. They let Johnson go for a decent fee to West brom, maybe wilder should do some sounding out before Jan / next season.

Think it might be a case of which league we are in. IF we were to get promoted then and only then could I see it happening, for one he won't be cheap and two I think he will feel he has earned a chance to play at that level.

Top drawer in every aspect.

Almost all aspects – his kicking to the halfway line in the air is still the most error-ridden I’ve seen of our recent keepers. There was one in particular late on where he just kicked it straight out towards the halfway line. No issue when we’re 3-0 up, but had we been holding on for a win that sort of easy concession of possession can be damaging. It’s been a consistent part of his games so far.

In all other aspects he’s been excellent. I imagine we could have got Blackman back this season – at a time when Wilder was looking for other deals elsewhere in the squad that would have been a simple option. A great call from Wilder to instead strive for more than what Blackman provided.

Henderson is confident he’ll be a regular in the PL sooner or later. His ultimate target is to be number 1 at Man Utd and he genuinely believes he has a chance.

So he’ll do whatever is best for his career. Imagine he’ll only think about joining us if we gained promotion back to the PL.

Only ever been one Deano.
Henderson is very good, more agile than JB and all think he's as good as we've had in a while.

Needs another nickname though, can only ever be one Deano

I think we can go with Hendo. When young Dean comes to claim the ball he can shout "HENDO'S!!". I'm sure he'd Relish that....

First thing I noticed about him was his hands are like glue. Add in the obvious shot stopping ability and he’s not missing anything he can’t learn with a bit of experience.

Top keeper with potential to go a very long way.

I was thinking similar. I was going to suggest, “Hendo”, but that would be disrespectful to the legendary Mick Henderson who played for us in the 1980’s.

Oooohh I was so sure that this thread was going to be a new song about our on loan goalkeeper, based on this timeless classic.

Shame, really.

Rinsing my brain cell and just can't remember this fella. Even gone on the interweb and recall all the rest but not him.
