I didn't want to start a wave of individual threads yesterday for each player that had a good game or we would have at least 11 of them, but I'd like a quick shout out for Deano Hendo.
It might mean nothing to a lot of you but off the pitch he seems like a passionate and proud young lad. From writting out the full lyrics of Greasy Chip Butty on Twitter the day he arrived, to commenting, liking, and writting about how much he enjoys it here.
Questions were asked early doors after we looked terrified of crosses when Boro mauled us, but he's got stronger and stronger.
He came into his own straight after making some huge saves, some exaggerated for tv but why the hell not!?
The one on one save catapulted him up in the fans ratings, and his full pitch dash to celebrate a late winner with the team agaisnt Norwich propelled him to a future fan favourite.
I read people claiming he was too small, not commanding enough, and even noticed ridiculous talk of Blackman being a better stopper.
I did have my reservations that he could "just be a shot stopper" and that he would have to learn on the job in regards to the rest of a keepers skill set.
The last few games have put my mind at rest and if he can pass the Bolton aerial test then he's nothing else to fear. He will come off his line, he talks and commands but above all THE BALL STICKS. He can take the ball out of the air at its highest point and 9 times out of ten he strongly holds onto it.
Being a youngster it is even more impressive taking into consideration he has been brought up in the "punches generation".
I think he's a fantastic signing for this year let alone if we get him a season or two after because he's only going to get better and better.
The kid has the world at his feet, and he now has a back 3 infront of him to give him great guidance and protection.
Good luck to the lad and I hope he becomes a fan favourite straight away.
