Bassett offered one of the players a trial didn't he? I forget his name but he's one of the Pawn Shop owners in Snatch and he also played Trojan in the Vinnie Jones remake of Mean Machine (along with plenty of people who would have been his team mates had he taken the trial!)

I'd have Jose Mourinho. As this thread seems to be a "fantasy manager" then I'll have The Special One. He'd only go to a club that can pay him an absolute fortune, so it would mean we'd been taken over by our dream owners, very very rich idiots. So we'd sign lots of fancy foreign players, and have a manager than the ladies could slobber over while us blokes decide whether to have Kaka, Ronaldo, Ferdinand, Terry or Jagielka on the back of our shirts. Because if Jose has any sense the first signing he makes will be Jags. Then some poncey bloke, doesn't matter who.

The post that started the thread didn't seem to be at all anti-Blackwell, nor did it insinuate that we should get rid of him. I just took it as being one of those "what if...?" type threads. Don't see any harm in it.

if the vacancy does crop up,we dont need another blade as manager like warnock,look at the times his judgement got clouded, as in, am i a boss or a fan ?. we would need a big name with a proven track record,no more bargain basement recruits.we like to be known as a big club so we would need a big name to go with it.
