Johnson didn't play any minutes in 4 games (3 league and a friendly) prior to last night so I wouldn't be surprised if Wilder asked Pulis if he could let Johnson play last night just so that he's got a game under his belt and is match sharp ahead of Saturday rather than not playing any football in 5 games in case he wants to involve him.

I agree personally, it’s a bit of half a dozen of one and 6 of the other. Given the age of our strikers I would love to see investment in say Brereton... but totally understand the reasoning behind going for one with a bit more experience, at the end of the day we need to win games in the here and now.
