Seems strange to already have played 2 league games in a short time and the 3rd is Saturday but I think we might benefit from it in long run

I’m the same Stretch, but having witnessed that tonight it wasn’t that simple. They opened us up numerous times with ease first half and we only came back into it second half because they sat back a little with a ‘job done’ attitudeStrange how I always feel better after listening to this bloke.
Be reyt, a busy few days ahead for him though!
Clarke has been poor without a doubt but we have far bigger problems than him at the minuteDoes a manager always drop a player after one poor performance? Not often.
Was Clarke really poor against Swansea or was the supply poor?
Leonard does get chances and will probably get them again. If I remember rightly, he played in the away win at Bristol City on the last day of last season.
The fee & the personal terms have to be thereabouts if any hope of signing top class Champ/ lower Prem team players. No permanent transfers. No targets. This is either an elaborate wind-up to cover his business or incredibly depressing.
Only had a bid for one player? No one else out there? Why bother trying eh?
These are the only facts the Blades far right fans can't blame Leon for !I’m the same Stretch, but having witnessed that tonight it wasn’t that simple. Exactly what I put earlier in Silents moaning threadI think our main problem is that our tempo is not the same. One of the key parts of our game has been the pressing element and to be successful that has relied on a high tempo, which now seems to be lacking. We appear a bit lethargic.

I expect it's similar to the Waghorn scenario. I never feel comfortable saying players should play for low wages when they can get higher wages somewhere else. It's a short career so who can blame them ....with their wives input....for chasing the money. Leon turned down higher wages last season out of loyalty to The Blades & Chris Wilder. But now noone has a good word to say about the lad.
CW said our squad better ...on peanuts money.... Dean H goalie loanee , Ben W loanee , David McG free ... John Egan 4 million total package fee ....Keane Bryan ..dunno the fee ? ......these total the 5 in this summer. We are Blades we have never had multi billion pound signings we just get on with it & we SUPPORT our team...ALL of them on the pitch. If you can't do this bye bye ....Yer that’s what he said, and he also said that we had brought in 5 new signings that have made our squad better? Can anyone name the 5 he refers to?

I was gobsmacked he went with them tonight mate. Not only are they poor defensively but we create so little too. There must surely be issues regarding Duffy starting because no manager in the country could deny that we would have looked so much better if he had started. Everyone makes mistakes including CW. Surely even he’s not that stubborn or stupid come SaturdayWouldn't argue mate, saw it myself. First 20 minutes effectively killed the game for us and we were vulnerable a few times after that.
We need to be switched on defensively from the start but a lot more invention going forward. Hoping for a changed starting 11 v QPR. If Chris goes with Lunny and Evans again in CM I will be furious. They don't work as a pair, sadly.
Maybe Chris will start with Duffy so we can all see how long he can last before his legs go ? Maybe we all need to witness this then we will know what Chris is up against ? If he does it will silence so many of the argue black is white against Chris? I hope he starts Duffy on Saturday as it has to be done.Wouldn't argue mate, saw it myself. But I don't want Mark Duffy to be humiliated that he can't last 90 minutes. But some fans need to have it proved to them.Maybe Chris will start with Duffy so we can all see how long he can last before his legs go ? Money talks....in every aspect of life. Our fans expect us to beat the likes of Swansea and Middlesbrough, and I’m afraid it’s not going to be that easy.
Friendlies aren't the same as competitive matches which count. Everyone I've spoken to says Mark himself can't manage more than 30 minutes. It's not his fault he is 33 ish & played a lot of non league ....Prescott Cables & Vauxhall league .....before he became professional. He's no longer a young man . So please don't criticise him give the bloke a break. If he can only do 30 minutes so be it.60 minutes of Duffy turns us into a far more dangerous prospect as a team, than 60 minutes without him does. We saw this repeatedly last season, when he was our best player until towards the end.
I would rather start with him every game, give ourselves a chance and then shut up shop, if necessary having tried.
If his legs really have gone and we can only get say 30-40 minutes then fair enough, he is better on the bench. But I doubt he has deteriorated that much in 8 weeks.
What a load of bollocks this post is. Wake up & smell the coffee ....Chris never said he could walk on water for God's sake. It’s crazy to think that a manager that brought so many great memories in such a short amount of time (100 points, bouncing day) has lost the respect of quite a chunk of supporters. For good reason too. Flirting with the media speculation surrounding him and Sunderland for a better pay day, and the lack of work on the team over the summer.
Wilder is turning into a Warnock/Blackwell/Clough hybrid - much more of a fan of himself, in denial and snapping at everyone else because it’s not his fault, due to his own stubbornness despite it being clear where the issues lie.
It saddens me that it’s looking more and more likely that this is taking a huge turn for the worse. Snap out of it Chris, please.![]()
Fleck & mates in midfield were atrocious at helping out the defence. No they don't. A couple of draws might be ok realistically. What we don't expect is two abject performances from teams that shouldn't have been selected.
Care to mention the parts that are bollocks? What a load of bollocks this post is. Wake up & smell the coffee ....Chris never said he could walk on water for God's sake.
Chris has to be mindful of his employers. Yes he won us promotion & yes he overachieved last season. So give the guy a break this season & don't make it worse by nasty comments. If you make nasty comments you are a pig !Yes, his interview was not good tonight. i felt the presenter let him get off light but he still rudely snapped at him. We have lost both games handily and been given a right going over. Not sure what he expected too be asked?
We also as fans expect that we would sign some more players as that has been the impression even Wilder has given. His responses were very angry and gave confusing messages after saying we had bid for players, not touched the Brooks money etc.
However, I am more concerned that he feels it is just about poor goals or set plays as he sees it tonight. Boro could have been 1-0 up after 30 seconds tonight. We barely laid a glove on them in the first 20 minutes. Swansea on Saturday could easily have won 4 or 5-2 if they had taken their chances. I am worried if he thinks it is just down to odd mistake. We are getting outworked and outrun all over the field at the moment. If we cannot win those battles, first and second balls then of course teams will get chances, win corners, get oppourtunity to hurt us on set plays. I want to see some fight from this side again. We look a demotivated mob at the moment.
Yes expecting miracles from cheap or free players again for the second year running .....when they've sussed us out. The cheque book rules in football we all know this....so with a tiny cheque book it's best not to expect too much !Care to mention the parts that are bollocks?
I guess he's really upset so he told the truth after the match. Let's hope he's not in big trouble now he's let the cat out of the bag .in the interview on radio before the match he was still saying we stood a chance of getting in a perm transfer nefore the window, he said bids in for 2 perms and 2 loans.........that has all changes rather quickly
What are these “miracles” I supposedly brought up?Yes expecting miracles from cheap or free players again for the second year running .....when they've sussed us out. The cheque book rules in football we all know this....so with a tiny cheque book it's best not to expect too much !
I stand by Chris he deserves respect for getting us promotion on very little money. The commentator rambled on tonight on all the money Brian Robson spent when manager at Middlesbrough......& they still not failed ! He spent mega miĺlions of Middlesboro money. Why do managers need all of this money if it doesn't matter?I think you are missing the point. We have been pretty rubbish since the Coutts injury not able to string many consecutive wins together and all the tv pundits say that. Wilder has repeatedly said in RS interviews 'we have not been found out, it is individual errors or we haven't got the quality'. Well do what DB and NW did then - play to your strengths with what you have got/can afford or move on! The L1 champions season was two seasons ago!
I think his RS interview tonight gave the first indications that he may well walk out this season citing lack of money, can't compete with the Derby's and the like. Perhaps our RS interviewers might like to remind him that we didn't do as well as Brentford, Millwall or Preston. And I bet they have less money than we have.
No I stand by the fact CW is now becoming deluded and somewhat dogmatic and clearly his team selection was crap. He's just too arrogant to admit it. We'll see what Saturday brings in our first 'six pointer' of the season.![]()
