Unless you were giving me an instruction which coincidentally matches the acronym.

I’ve often wondered that myself. It’s the first thing you’re asked when you start school, work, new job etc, when you meet someone from out of town who’s into football ‘Blade or Owl?’Do people not think that the animosity/banter between the two clubs is what keeps local youths supporting one of the Sheffield clubs and not go glory hunting? If one were to go it might mean youngsters start supporting Successful clubs, like Man U. A path that could lead to a decline in our support, if we are not successful. So, on those grounds, I don't want them to go bust, for the sake of Sheffield football.
Back to the “expensive means better” mindset.
It's like that older brother that you were always fighting with when you were young and then when he leaves home you don't half miss him.
Last week was a perfect time for the Blades. They were fighting over transfer embargoes, radio coverage etc., we'd made some good signings and with a good preseason things were looking bright.
So how disappointing it was to lose against Swansea.
No matter what happens at Hillsborough if we don't deliver then our sneering at their predicament is a complete waste of time.
If we want to obliterate them then the season must start tonight.
Football clubs get special concessions because they are considered part of the community and hence unlikely to fold in a traditional business sense.
I always wondered why my great, great grandfather Tom Bott was not in France but running SUFC back during WW1.
The reason I think is that his business was the biggest fish wholesaler in Sheffield.
Fish and Chip shops were exempt for wartime call up because it was thought that without the 'staple diet' the people would riot.
Though maybe the same applied to those who ran football clubs ?
Anyone here around during WW1 ?
No, they won't. No chance. They'll drop Hutchinson into defence for a start, and I would guess that they'll probably be able to loan another defender if Westwood goes.
But from what was said last night if the Owls don't go up then things are looking bad. So they could theoretically finish in the playoffs, lose, and still be in the brown stuff.
If you're going to "go for it" you've gotta do what Wolves did, not meekly, half-heartedly do it like Chancer did.
Possibly because he was too old?
He doesn't look to be 70 years old though photographs of the time then scanned can be deceptive
His obituary from the Sheffield Daily Telegraph 14 October 1925 makes for interesting reading.
Described as "one of the greatest happiness makers Sheffield United ever had"

If it opens.

It’s academic anyway, Chancers come and go but they’ll always be twenty odd thousand people willing to pay to watch a club called Sheffield Wednesday or Sheffield United. So those clubs will always exist, in some form or another. They couldn’t kill Wimbledon, no chance of killing a Sheffield club.
I aim to be buried in a cast off piggy shirt cos no way Will Lucifer let me in with that onI'm at the fag end of my life, hopefully still got a good few years left in me though. However, I've given up hope of us actually winning anything in my lifetime but I'm still optimistic those bastards will implode into oblivion, in which case i'll still be pegging it with a smile on my face.
Not sure Westwood leaving would free up enough. It's not just a case of transferring any savings into a pot for incomings, they have to massively reduce their outlay and increase their revenue. Only a couple of big sales would likely scratch the surface and Chanser still seems unwilling to part with his prize assets. I could be wrong but that seems to be the noise many of them are making.
They are still strong up front but lack any depth elsewhere. Think they will still limp into mid table though.
I need your credit card number, pin, dob and postcode to open it Tom. PMme though, there's some right dodgepots on here.
