Was he really worth a spot over Bryan, never mind Freeman? Seems a waste of a wage right now especially when the first choice is struggling.

The lad came in whilst we were shit in the 3rd division and did a great job. Scored the last goal of the promo season to get us to 100 points in a 3-2 win over Ches Vegas.
Has never let us down when he has played.

Lafferty has been immensely adequate every time I've seen him play. He's never been a liability.

Freeman would leave us with the same problem we have now. He's OK attacking and good for a goal or two but so are the rest, bar Stevens. What we need are a couple of decent fullbacks or we'll get opened up every game down the flanks. Blaming any of the back three for Saturday's woes is laughable. The players we have now might be adept at full back but we have to give four at the back a go to find this out.

I think the wing back position in our formation is one of the hardest on the pitch. They've got to be great skilful attackers who can beat a man and put in a great cross, great defenders, great athletes to get up and down and have pace. I'm amazed at the level of Wendyitis percolating through some of the attitudes on here - now we've had a couple of good seasons compared to the shit we have been served up the previous 7.

We've slated fans of other teams for not having a real perspective and thinking their club and the way they play football is far superior to many others (as though that's the way it's always been). That witless arrogance we have witnessed in the excellent Roygbiv View From and, pretty much as one, derided. The the lazy way oppo fans have expected us to be a kick and rush team and made it out that their team had an off day against such shit opposition when we've done them over.

Let's remember where we have come from and the years of pain we've endured and then be a little more magnanimous about others (I'll give you Wendy and Leeds cos they can fuck right off). Let's also not be drawn into slagging our own off as though they are suddenly all shit and of no use at all.

The "first choice" isn't just struggling, he's been dire for months now.
We really need to replace Stevens, even JOC gets forward faster, and puts in a better cross, it's beyond me why Wilder hasn't shoved his size 9 up his arse!?

My thoughts precisely, I’ve found the attitudes and vitriol on this site much worse than Saturday’s performance. It’s depressing how fair weather many have become on the back of our good start last season. As someone else pointed out, if Brentford had played two up top last August we’d have been beat but they were powderpuff. We’re a bang average championship team at best and considering our constraints, that’s not going to change any time soon. Let’s stop sounding like Wednesday fans and get some perspective.

He's always wasteful. He's a lot of huff and puff with very little end product but 1) I bet he's a nightmare to play against because he never ever stops and 2) did he have much competition for our MOTM Saturday?
We desperately need more from our wingbacks in terms of crosses, pullbacks and goals. Freeman gives you that.

people are waking up mate it took saturdays performance to make them raise their heads but grumblings have been going on for a while
personally i don’t get stevens he’s worse than Lafferty .. it worries me there is a bit of a pals act going on.. some of the decisions recently make no sense

That's all well and good but he isn't a left back. He's supposedly a left wing back. Crossing is HUGE for his role, especially if we lack creativity in the center. Our style is heavily reliant on width and overlapping, we need better end products from those areas.
