Sure is, so why did everything look exactly the same yesterday despite all the summer planning and new players.

Writing everything off as a new season means we can probably disregard his first 18 months as well then.

The kit was white on the back. That’s a start.

Saying that if you extrapolate our first game over the rest of the season we’ll have no points. I’m worried now.

Yesterday's defeat was far too similar to many of them in the 2nd half of last season. 1-0 at home with twenty minutes to go, we should be seeing those type of games out. Still not good enough in the 3 main areas of the team. Lundstrum and Evans simply aren't good enough at this level if we're hoping to mount a top six challenge, if we're all happy with lower mid, even a flirt with relegation then by all means keep them in the team. It took Wilder two or three games last season to see that Duffy should be starting, let's hope he sees sense on Tuesday night. Try Leonard as a holding player in midfield, change the way the team plays slightly ie not as gung ho and we might at least be able to shut up shop more effectively. Up top we need a bit of pace and a bit of swagger.

Weren't County down to 10 men, and they ended up being relegated that season??

I may be wrong about both these facts, but it would explain how we managed a victory under Weir.
Yep. It was also one of the only games Kevin McDonald played in before he was sold, which again goes some way to explaining it.

But the team is barely different to that which finished last season. Egan for Stearman and a new borrowed goalie and a striker is hardly revolution. The midfield and wingbacks lack flair and we’ve little pace. This is a mid table set of players still shorn of Coutts and now without its most promising creative player.

At the end of last season I was saying we need half a dozen good signings to stand still. That’s incredibly hard to achieve on our budget, so I expect to finish lower this year. To find the early form of last season would be miraculous.

Since Evans joined the team these are our set of results.

Only relegated side to win were Swansea. They're in the most turmoil too. Great chance thrown away yesterday and definitely worrying.

Looking at the relegated teams I think Swansea will do best , the teams that come down and stick with the big time Charlie’s who think they can piss the league never do well . Swansea were really impressive plenty of pace and flair in montero McBurnie etc and all very you and hungry with a young hungry manager .

Wouldn’t get too down about this Result they’ll be playoffs minimum and we need a quality striker and another quality attacking mid hopefully freemenan and Bradshaw

It's a tough league, pretty much all our players have stepped up from lower leagues, we've made a few tweaks to the team this summer, so I don't think you should look too deep into stats this early in the season.

Correct. It was also the only good game Febian Brandy ever had for us.

Now plays for Ebbsfleet!

Mate, after the goal we were fucking shit.

Indeed, I don't agree with the theory that the game was like the litany of games last season at the Lane where we got sucker punched. Rather we just got taken apart for 25 minutes.

I remember watching the game texting my dad something along the lines of "This guy Brandy is gonna tear this league apart".
I've tried to avoid rushing to judgement about new players ever since.

I think he has/had genuine talent. Maybe it was an attitude thing.

Or writing off the next 9 months?

What happened to watching how the season unfolds? Surely Wilder has enough credit to give him the benefit of the doubt for a reasonable period of time? You know more than one fucking match?!:eek::rolleyes::D
