Pigs ban Radio Sheffield

There seems to be a common belief over there that this isn't such a bad thing as Chansiri has an alternative lined up for them (ie Hallam Fm or TalkSport).

What they don't realise is he DOES have an alternative lined up, and it cost £4.49 per month. This is still somehow better than a free* service and TURNING DOWN revenue.

When the fuck are they going to wake up? I mean, seriously? This guy is running them into the ground and they're still bending over backwards.

(EDIT - *bar the license fee obviously)

I felt really flat about this season a few weeks ago when we sold Brooks and our ownership fallouts were plastered all over the press with it looking like we were having to sell to run the club.

Fast forward a few weeks and I cannot wait, I think we’ve done good business and still think we’ll add a really decent forward to our squad. Chris is buzzing and so are most of our fans.

A few miles away they are dodging questions on FFP and everyone can see they are blatantly in trouble or on the edge of being in trouble with it. They need to trim a vastly overpaid aging squad and they have added no quality whatsoever. This coming off the back of a poor season their fans must have been feeling a little glum... now captain birdseye is trying to force them to pay for commentaries they had for free! They already had hugely expensive tickets so the average fan would probably have to pick and chose games now they can’t even listen to the ones they can’t make without paying! They must be furious.

I can see them having a bad, long and hard season and the fans will rightly get more and more pissed off.

Bring it fucking on!

This post is hilarious about the alternative being offered.

'Right Dad, have you put the username and password in?'

'I think so.'

'OK - just click on the play button then. The game's started, by the way.'

'What does that look like?'

'Er...it's a triangle, just like on your stereo. Nuhiu just missed s decent chance.'

'It's asking me to download something.'

'No! Don't download anything! You just need to press play.'

'Update Chrome? What's that? Have we got a virus?'

'Sigh. They've scored.'

'Who, Wednesday? No, the other lot.'

'Oh. The computer is restarting. Hang on...'

More clowns who think he can do no wrong:

"All this anger seems a bit misguided to me. Not entirely, but perhaps somewhat.

As a growing fanbase that draws in a big listener-ship, why should the club accept a pay cut from the BBC? What justification is there for being paid less?

The club can now launch a new service, offer more to subscribers and tell the stingy BBC where to go.

The club doesn't owe them anything!"

NOT to mention totally fucking deluded.

I'm off to the hospital to get some stitches for my sides. What a fucking bellend :D:D:D:D:D

Amusingly, there was a petition on change.org (put up by a SWFC fan named Lee Hicklin i think - its linked from The Stir article), which got 200 signatures in about half an hour, and which the fella in question has subsequently decided to take down!

Free annual subscription the the PigPlayer service, and all of a sudden slop is tasty again, and Mister Chansiri is back in the good books i reckon.

I actively avoid any situation in which I might be forced to speak to Grunters about football. Every word that slips from their lying, deluded, dopey cuntish mouths makes my flesh crawl.

Anybody who says there's no difference between us and them wants their bumps checking.
Ah, he's back :D

Had a quick look at Twitter to see their reaction and seems pretty split which I think is the worst part of it.

There is not anyway this can be sold as a positive thing, the fans defending Chansiri really need to have a look at themselves. He is making mugs out of them, he is disrespecting tradition and the fan base with this move. This will cut out the chance for thousands of people to follow their team, and its as if the club have completely disregarded them. A lot of them will be elderly who are no longer fit to attend games, but would have been season ticket holders for many years before then. They have been tossed aside and forgotten about with this move, and it’s all down to greed.

Without knowing the ins and outs, I would strongly doubt that the revenue they receive from the BBC will have a big impact on their income, so a 10% cut really won’t change much for them at all.

It’s disgusting, I’m glad it’s not my club, but I feel for their fans on this because it’s completely unfair. It’s all down to one man who is ruining a football club singlehandedly.

Does anybody know what the fee is that the BBC pay to SWFC (and us for that matter). I can't see it being a massive amount as the BBC are also strapped for cash. What does the 10% reduction mean in actual money?

You know you are in the wrong when 91 clubs have accepted the reduction and you are the only one out of step. This move is very mean spirited for those who like to listen to the RS commentary and shows how disconnected they are from their fans.

Chancer probably threatened to sue him and ban him from the ground.

On a week when we announce that we will be expanding our horizons in the city, they decrease theirs.

There's a real opportunity brewing for United to put a big nail in their coffin in terms of new supporters coming through. We have been here before (06/07) and blew it, let's hope we can take advantage this time around.

If it happened to us this would be my dad.

Apparently RS will still cover the Steel City derby at the Sty & Rotherham’s visit there as this is covered by their deals with the Blades and Millers.

Presumably then for those matches they will not have a Wednesday sumerisor like Pearson to give a Wednesday angle as they aren’t covering their games?

Someone over on porktalk said "all this over 6 grand". Now, if thats correct, how much do they reckon it's going to cost to employ someone to commentate on matches? iplayer currently just streams the RS summeriser (eg, theres been a goal at hillsborough, whats happened johnny?) commentating. If he's not there, they'll have to employ someone themselves. So instead of getting whatever they're getting from the BBC they'll have to actually pay out instead. Great deal making skills there mester chansiri

Right then, I've read the opening post and can't be arsed to read the rest of the thread.

So, can someone tell me - is this an actual thing? I don't feel like this should be a thing. Surely not? It'd be ridiculous.

Is he about twelve years old? Loads of people took pay cuts or didn’t get a rise for several years after the 2008 crash, just to keep their jobs. They had no choice because their was no alternative.

He’s about 32/33. Thick as a butchers wrist. Works in that chocolate factory down Hillsborough. Full weight. One of them proper blinkered wankers who can see no wrong. He’d happily pay £1000 for a season ticket.

His latest comment was “ask Sheffield United for 10% discount on your next season ticket and see what they say”. Hardly the same is it?

It’s real.

The plus side is that that giddy pig bastard Jon Pearson is out of work.

Silver linings and all that

Praise or Grumble

AG - that was Chris Wilder telling us his thoughts on yet another 5-0 home win in front of nearly thirty thousand fans at Bramall Lane. Our next caller is Jethro, who's an Owl. Evening Jethro,

In background "and we won league six times in a row int nineties with 400000 gates - more than yer grandad talks about int fifties mind - and we all had Waddle haircuts and that's why we're most popular club in World son. Dad, Billy Sharp scored three again, (crack) get to bed yer little bastard"

AG - Jethro ?

J - sorry Rob, err, bad reception, it's a grumble Seth. Another penalty awarded against us by a dodgy ref.

AG - did you go today?

J - No it's too expensive.

AG - and you can't hear it on the radio, right?

J - It were dodgy Paul, trust me. I would of listened to it on TalkTuna Radio but Brighthome has repossessed mi receiver and transistor because I couldn't keep up wi payments to DK Finance company. It's only a tenner a month to listen but equipment costs five grand a year.,

AG - that's something you need to take up with your Chairman Jethro

J - Mr Chansiri is the best chairman we've ever had.

AG - it's very expensive for Wednesday fans these days and your bottom of the league and still under a transfer embargo.

J -,err, Why is Ched Evans still allowed to play football Paulette?

They have Pearson lined up as part of their commentary team :D:D:D:D
Let the stupid pigs think this is a good thing, long may it continue. It is like a death from a thousand cuts, a nice slow agonising death. I couldn't give a fuck about their fans who would never let it rest over Tevez and who are still going on about the Evans saga, fuck em.

I wonder if Pearson's co commentator will be David Hirst ? ................................ mmmm perhaps not :)
