Old Photos For No Reason Whatsoever

Thanks for those 2 sets of photos. They are part of my family history. My parents in their pre-war courting days, like many other Sheffielders, caught the train on Sunday mornings to go hiking in the Hope Valley. And my mother's ancestors in the 19th century worked in one of the mills in the Rivelin Valley (and lived close by).

Agreed, very sad and shocking thinking about it now, just seemed funny at the time. Did you go to City School then mate?

He played in goal for the Three Feathers for a while.
 

Ahhh the cannon,spent many an afternoon,tea time and evening in there with the old boys,les Hartley rip,kieth bullimore,mick mbye,boydy Thomas,fat sam deakin and a few more,we used to do the tour,bottom of lane,cannon,chicks,tap and barrel,Alex,big gun and back to bottom of lane..the Good old days and nights.

Yes ppp i heard last Wednesday tea-time pal,saddened and shocked to say the least,will be at the funeral on 21st also the normanton after,loved him to bits,never be another corn beef.
 

Kenny, Dennis, Ronnie and Joe Mitchell all played for the Bradway pub back in the early 80s (I did too) before the Bradway were good !

Mitchell brothers were all pig fans but a good bunch. Unfortunately Kenny passed away a few years back quite suddenly.
