I like Waghorn but won't be too disappointed if we don't get him considering the price.

There are plenty of other good solutions, especially if Wilder is willing to sign 2 strikers and not just 1.

Or one striker and Luke Freeman ...

Ipswich said to be very keen on Kayden Jackson at Accrington. Like Ellis Harrison, he's an attacker who can run with the ball.

Waghorn's definitely leaving.
Imagine the reaction on here if we tried to sign anyone from Accrington or Bristol Rovers :D

There’s every chance we’ll sign Waghorn.

If Leeds sign Bamford they won’t sign Vydra and therefore Derby won’t have the funds to sign Waghorn. Leaving it open for us unless someone like Boro, Forest, WBA or the likes fancy a punt

If boro sell Bamford they will want to replace him and have been linked with Waghorn before. Also Leeds are keen on both Bamford and Vydra so if Vydra goes Derby will have the cash to blow us out of the water unfortunately.

Is wilder being the Fox that Nixon says he is. The alternative to signing Waghorn would be to smoke out another team to buy him or stray a transfer chain so you get the player you really want.

Derby could be Nugent
Leeds buy Vydra so derby can get Waghorn. We get either Nugent or Roofe from Leeds. Will be an interesting week watching the cards fall.

Waghorn could be left without a chair when the music stops if he isn't careful..

i'd have to suppress a snigger. sorry :)

To what point or purpose?

There isn’t one. There would be if the powers that be read the post and thought “that fella has a point”. I just want us to quote stupid high prices and work down.

Leeds ruled themselves out of vydra now. According to Their version of James shield. could open the door to us or boro now for Waghorn.

Why would Boro be after Waghorn?
He's overpriced and has only had one good season.
Class (?) outfits like Boro, Leeds and Derby wouldn't be shopping in the same market as us - would they?

Boro have plenty of strikers. If I was Waghorn I'd be coming to us. A club where he will go straight into the first eleven and the potential to become a hero. At Boro/Derby et al he will start on the bench and at his age he needs to be playing regularly.

I think the same logic could be applied to Woodburn

Klopp wants him to have regular football. Would he get more game time with us or Villa?

If I was Waghorn I'd probably go to whoever pays me the most. Least I am honest. Reckon Boro and Derby would blow us out of the water in that regard.

But would we be prepared to accept the financial penalty clauses Liverpool insert into loans if we weren’t to play him? Not a chance, wilder has already ruled that out.

It's not cast in stone that Klopp would be stipulating that, although this has been intimated. If that were to be true, CW wouldn't be in for him
