Scottish then.
It could, but it means that based on stats, X shots of him should result in a goal statswise, so it can also mean that he got unlucky with some good goalkeeper saves etc. But obviously needs to watch lots of footage of him, which I have not done yet.
It'll surly have been known a while. CW and AK do their homework.Come out if the blue, could it be someone from, or recommended by our visitors on Tuesday?
Yes I agree, the eye test should be the main thing to identify good players. Lots of qualities are not expressable in stats. But you can use stats to define the group of interesting players, and go from there with the eye test. Since I can't watch that much of the CS I just look at the stats and watch footages of players that look promising on paperInteresting that the same questions could be asked of waghorn. Did he just ‘get lucky’ last season and overperform.
I find stats like that helpful in adding a different perspective but feel the ‘eye test’ still has a prime place in decision making and scouting.
This last fortnight has been the death of the ITKer for me.
Johnsen is on his way to AZ so can't see that happening. But couldn't it be a foreign striker who already plays in England?Bjorn Johnsen?.

Conversation between some lad and that Nixon fellow (I know).
'any idea who the new player Sheff U have bid for is Alan, Wilder said bid went in this morning'
'Wilder is a fox. Quite enjoy watching him.'
A Leicester player, perhaps? Or maybe Alan has a bit of a thing for our Chris?
Ulloa?
So how does this actually work, does anyone know?, is it just a case of........
<phone rings>
"Hello?"
"Hello is that Alan?"
"Yes, who's speaking please?"
"Hello Alan, it's Chris, Chris Wilder, manager of Sheffield United"
"Oh hello Chris!, nice to hear from you, and can I just say, that was a smashing performance against Inter Milan!"
"Thanks Alan, nice of you to say so, the lads played well"
"They did indeed Chris, now, what can I do for you?"
"Nothing really, it's just a call to let you know I am looking at a foreign striker, just in case you want to put that on Twitter"
"Understood Chris, thanks for the info, I will go and do that now"
"Thanks Alan, bye for now"
"Bye"
Don't know how viable it would be but I always liked Leigh Griffiths at Celtic. Lefty with good speed and can take a cracking free kick. I think he was valued at £6m last year when Newcastle were looking at him but he's had some injuries and fallen down the pecking order with Dembele and Edouard since then so he could be available for decent monies.
Haven't a clue on his contract or wages mind so it could be a complete no go.
So if I go over and shave Griffiths' head it's a yes from you?Leigh Griffiths has got a hair transplant. Can't be having that. Alan Cork didn't have a hair transplant. He embraced his baldness.
I think they prefer the term 'Scottish'Always thought he was a bit of a **** but at least he would be our ****
So if I go over and shave Griffiths' head it's a yes from you?
I don't trust bald men who have beards. I see one and I'm all like "put your fucking face on the right way round you topsy-turvy cuuuuuuuunt!"It's a maybe. Only a yes if he promises to grow a massive beard.
I'd like us to sign an attacking midfielder and two strikers, even if it takes until the end of August.
It's getting to the crunch time now and, naturally, Wilder will be working his way down his lists. So here's something like what mine would be for each position, including LWB, which I know we're likely to ignore, but anyway...
Attacking midfield:
1. Marcus Maddison
2. Luke Freeman
3. Ben Woodburn
4. Sheyi Ojo
5. Kieran Dowell
6. Josh Windass
Main striker:
1. Sam Gallagher
2. Lucas Joao
3. Tammy Abraham
4. Leonardo Ulloa
5. Jordan Hugill
6. Collin Quaner
7. Michael Frey
Additional striker:
1. Adam Armstrong
2. Danny Ward
3. Sam Baldock
4. Lukas Nmecha
5. Ashley Fletcher
Left wing back:
1. Jay Dasilva
2. Antonee Robinson
3. Matt Targett
4. Marvin Johnson
5. Armand Traore
6. Sam McQueen
7. Greg Taylor
Some good options on there. Think wilder has said he’s only after 2 (after adding mcgoldrick) more so suspect he’s gonna go with what we have at left back for now....
My choices from that list would be
Freeman (AM)
Woodburn (AM/second striker)
Joao. (Main striker)
That said Armstrong for some pace, quaner (impressed me with his directness) and there’s a player in fletcher in the right system. Would be pleased with adding any of them. And Ojo has looked good at this level, has he not already gone somewhere though?

Top 2 lists look good unsure on the latter of the players and some may be out of site. I like Maddison but he is a left winger and doesn’t play centrally according to Posh fans.
Fingers crossed CW gets who he wants.
