I remember going to see a stripper, watched her prance about the stage for what seemed ages, then she removed her red silk underwear to reveal !!!!!!!!!
I will never know what she revealed as every as every plonka in front of me stood up & I saw naff all.

When I started watching the Blades in the 60's everyone knew there position in life, the young lads & lower classes went behind the goal, shouted rude things about the referee & his lack of a father, threw bog rolls at the opposition players, while the middle management & above sat in the stands & would politely clap if the Blades scored.

Please remember the people behind you

I'm no expert on such matters but I suspect it was probably her fanny. Hope this helps.

When I started going in the 60's we only had one poxy little stand on JS which held about 3 or 4 thousand and was hardly ever full. The remainder stood up and had a fucking great time.

Good grief this old chestnut. Please if you don't like people getting excited at a football match and getting to their feet. DO NOT get a seat on the kop.

If you are a total knob head that loves shouting 'sit down' the kop is not for you. The kop should have no seats at all, so please please sit in the other stands..

Went on the South Stand yesterday, Kop end.

As usual, I was left feeling what a waste it is that everybody is chronically obliged to sit down.

Just a small number of well placed standing areas would transform grounds like ours. Maybe in 100 years we might have them.

Everybody should stand who can stand, safe standing should be rolled out in all areas. It’s about protecting the identity and atmosphere of English football.

No they shouldn't.

I'd prefer to stand and agree it creates a better atmosphere usually.

What would happen ideally is to create safe standing areas and leave seating too. I don't support the idea of fucking off the very younger, elderly, and infirm who make up a significant amount of our support just because others want what they want.

The new, approved, 'safe standing areas' are just seats with more space between them, bizarre.

I don’t get “people” think it’s acceptable to stand when there’s 15/20 rows behind them. Wanna stand up then fuck off to the back & don’t get offended when people ask you to sit. 3 blokes stood on gangway c of the kop last night and when they were asked to sit got the arse, wankers

It is indeed quite bizarre, and unnecessary. But better than the current setup.

I've previously spoken about how easy it would be to create temporary standing areas without really changing anything. It would just need the odd rail. I took this photo at Bradford, it's an example of what could be done. I don't know what the purpose of this rail is but it could be used to form an 'unofficial' standing area...

in Austria everyone stands up. i asked what the seats are for .. my mate said 'so you can sit down while you drink your beer and smoke your fag at half time' :D

Standing up is fine, I'm all for it in certain areas, but I attend with my Dad and now he's nearly 70 and has gammy legs, he can't stand up for 90 minutes so I think it's fair do's that you may be asked to sit down, as he shouldn't miss the match because of something that's beyond his control.

It's getting to the point now that I'm thinking about moving our seats down from TT because of the stairs, and I fully understand that if we do move I won't be able to stand up if I want to stay on the South. It's courtesy to your fellow Blades.

Except when we score. Stand up then. Anyone that tells you to sit down for celebrating is a massive fuckwit.

Moved seats this season for this very same reason, I’m only a midget (small ish person if you are offended by the word midget or dwarf) lads 6’2 so it don’t bother him, but me I saw fuck all last season as every fucker stood up, and they’re all taller than me..

This is a good post. We always stood on the kop when we were young in the 60s. I don't think we would manage it now one of us would keep over. So seats to the front & safe standing areas to the back in all of stands would be a good solution.
