Has he only got a year left on his contract?
Thought they only bought him last year.

He was shithouse at Rangers but I think that was more to do with poor management than anything. Since coming south he's improved quite a bit and I think Wilder can squeeze a lot more potential out of him.

Young too. I'd be appeh if he came here.
He's not young, he's 28. He has to retire when he reaches 30.

Maybe the plan was to spend a moderate amount on two strikers (Gallagher loan fee + wages which can be converted into transfer funds if he isn’t coming, and a couple of million on Hogan for example) but the free transfer McGoldrick has impressed Wilder to the point where he’s confident enough in him being the second additional striker and we can now afford to put both fees together for a more expensive signing.

But that makes it sound as if we know what we're doing

We would be Marriott's big move. His big chance. He's young, in form and exciting. Waghorn has all the attributes that I'd really like but a 28 year old ex premiership striker for £5m plus just doesn't sound as much of a Wilder type buy.
He's scored 20 in the Scottish Championship before (*scoffs) but other than last season he's had a patchy record with clubs and goals.
I really like Wilders attitude of giving lower league players (usually the best at their current club) their big chance, failing that players with hunger or something to prove. This guy has been at Rangers, Sunderland and even Ipswich. I'm not saying we are a sideways step but his motivation would purely come down to his personality and mind set which I obviously couldn't comment on.

Let's not forget the original post by Nixon, our estimations are miles off what his club want. How much would you be willing to pay?
They also want £6.5mil
If Ipswich want £7mil say for Waghorn, and they probably will take less, give me him every time.

If the price was more reasonable I wouldn't mind Marriott but it isn't so it's a no-go.

Egan (£4m), McGoldrick (free), Waghorn (£5m) , Henderson (loan), Woodburn (loan).

If the above all happens, what a fantastic transfer window that'd be for us. 3 permanent players with good Championship experience, plus two of the best young 'ens from the PL.

Just hope to f*ck we can keep hold of Fleck & JOC.

Fuck me. Didn't realise we had so many scouts and qualified coaches in our fan base. Not to mention bookkeepers
Bearing in mind the experience of CW, AK, Paul Mitchell and all the other scouts. And given the fact CW will know exactly what resources he has available, I am quite happy to go along with his decisions. But then what do I know?

He might have to struggle on for an extra year .

I understand that all the Care Homes for strikers over 30 are currently bursting at the seams.
It'll be even worse when the ones who have had a leg drop off are released from the prosthetic limb clinics :(

Couldn't agree more.

Those five plus a fit again Coutts and Freeman ( who we badly missed last season btw ) would IMO give us one of the strongest squads in the league and certainly capable of a top 6 finish , if not better .

Need a pacy LWB too me thinks.

Waghorn is shyte
Couldn't even score goals in the Scottish Premier League, and everybody on here says that is crap

True isn't it, Rangers binned him because he was shyte.
Shyte in an apparently shyte League, no wonder we are interested in him

Getting a bit worried now we might actually be getting a few decent players in.

The mask is starting to slip, and it was never fully on.
