Well. I've got no time for these modern invented rivalries because of some perceived slight. And, I always warm to fans who decide to fight back against the shit thrown at them by owners. So, Coventry, Hull, Charlton. I'll salute them.
And, taking a different slant, being an England Traveling Supporter means I've met and had a beer with fans from many clubs. I find it easy to have a soft spot for them all. In the dark days of the early 80s, when England's traveling support was small & drawn from a particular demographic, I made lifelong friendships with fans from (particularly) Chelsea, Tottenham, Southampton (now Eastleigh) & Manchester City.
I find lots of football "hatred" a little bit contrived & silly. By all means let's have a bit of bollocks & hostility in the ground. But, might as well leave it in there....

Got a soft spot for Chesterfield as some family and several mates support them, so I look out for their results. I've lived in Leeds for the past five years, so unfortunately I can't really escape them and I'm always aware of how they're doing. By no means a soft spot though.

'I don't mind' Spurs if I had to chose - English core, haven't spent billions, decent fans etc - but I don't actively 'like' any other teams.

The only other club I have taken much interest in is Charlton because I have some relatives who are supporters, my first time at the Valley was a game against Millwall .............. fookin Millwall ffs, when shaved heads were the rage.

Sheffield united are that team for me. I went down to the Lane when I first moved here in 2004. Been going ever since. Sorry still go in the away end when Ipswich come down though. (You never forget your first love)

The Blades are a very close second now they have got proper under my skin. Places I’ve been with them included Charlton, Liverpool, Rochdale, Bury, Portsmouth to name a few. Oh and Leppings Lane.

So in short The Blades and thank you.

I spent a few years down south during my childhood and Spurs had Hoddle,Waddle, Mabbutt, Steve Hodge, Clive Allen etc and were the most entertaining side to watch. They were also a good team to support if you didn't want your head kicking in!
On a related note, I asked my parents for a Spurs kit (self-preservation etc) and was rewarded on Christmas Day with Liverpool and Celtic kits?

The former I refused to ever wear (and I would have been beaten up) and the latter was a really nice kit and a free pass. I ended up following Celtic as well for several years.

As a young un my favourite teams apart from the Blades were

Liverpool- In Europe they had this aura of invincibility about them, even the likes of Real Madrid and Barcelona were scared of Liverpools reputation. Liked Heighway, Keegan, Dalglish, Hansen, Molby to name a few.

Spurs- always loved the football the early 80’s team played with Hoddle, Ardiles, Falcao etc.
They always seemed to score spectacular goals on Match of the Day.

Stopped liking Liverpool decades ago but still like Spurs, my favourite London team.

Teams I have a minor soft spot for are
Rotherham- I lived in Rotherham up to being 9 years old before moving to Sheffield, so they are my original local team.
Sunderland- have red and stripes like us, have a fantastic pre war history like us ans have underachieved in recent decades, like us.
Portsmouth- I’ve met some of their fans and for a south coast team their fan base seems very Northern, similar to Sheffielders.
Lincoln City- have red and white stripes like us, have a friend who is a Imps fan and they’ve had a bad time recently playing in the non league.

Just family ties for me my uncle by marriage was a big Charlton fan and took his daughters to games, his eldest married another big Charlton fan who still goes from the Isle of Sheppey, his 2nd daughter was not that bothered and his 3rd daughter who now lives in Rochester was a big fan and took me to the Valley when we were visiting. They always came up to Sheffield when Charlton played us or the pigs and sometimes Rotherham. At other times we would all go to the Lane if they were in Sheffield and we would go to the Valley if we were down Abbeywood a few stations down the line from Charlton, I remember my uncle thinking it was awesome on the kop when we drew 2-2 with Spurs in the early 70's he also loved the Sheffield beer and would get pissed as a fart .......... happy days.

Always had a soft spot for Wycombe since getting them up to the Premier League on the original Premier Manager. They were the best team in the Conference at the start of the game, with Steve Guppy (who went on to play in the Premiership with Leicester) and a striker called ... Stapleford, I think, particularly good.

Then a few years ago Ainsworth became their manager, which ruined that.

When I was a young lad aged about 12 we used to leave the lane and rush up the Moor to Wigfalls, crowd round the window and watch the results on a telly. I remember them getting hammered by Celtic 8-2 and felt sorry for them. Always looked out for there score for almost 40 years and have actually driven past there ground on the A9 and would have paid a visit if it wasn’t close season

Lincoln, Exeter, Stoke, Southampton, Brentford, Sunderland, Athletico Madrid, Estudientes - it's the stripes (nowt else!).
Coventry City - sorry, I don't subscribe to the recent hate stuff. I lived in Cov as a student a stupid number of years ago, had top times and have a soft spot for the club and city (sorry again!).
Bradford City - great fans (home and away), proper ground, make our hatred of Leeds seem half-hearted!
Anyone playing against Wendy or West Scam (yes, anyone).
Not in England (neither are Athletico or Estudientes), but Queen of the South! Always fascinated by the name as a kid but hadn't a clue where it was! I now know, they're in Dumfries, close to where some friends live. Never been to a game there as friends are largely footy-phobic, and weekends up there are largely devoted to drinking!

It's a long time since I studied Geography and only just scraped through my O level , but I seem to recall that in those days , cities like Munich , Athens , Lisbon, Madrid ( not to mention Ayr ) weren't in England .

I realise I should try harder to keep up with change in the modern world , but it's not easy at my age .
