btw, I can completely understand Moore wanting to go. He's 28 and not going to improve unless he plays regularly. I believe he was second choice before we signed him.
I would have no problem with Steele if we had a young(ish) player in goal we owned. But no. We have to find another loanee next season (keep an eye out for league 1 keepers out on loan!). I understand the difficulty of bringing in a reserve keeper at this level. They're not even going to get the chance to be no.1. Steele is not good enough if Henderson got injured. Eastwood needs a year out on loan before we can even make that judgement.

Moore will be going to West Brom as second choice, no way will he displace Sam Johnstone as number 1. He’s after a pay day - not that I can blame him.
Steele was good for Barnsley and good in Greece but not sure how well he did for Bristol when he deputised for Fielding last year.

Yeah that’s the one 200 plus games for Barnsley in the Championship and won player of the year. Also set up and a ran a charity whilst he was there. Did two seasons as first choice at Panathanikos and played in the Europa League with them. 2nd choice at Bristol City last season.
What’s your beef with him? Is there a better backup you’re aware of?

He's 34 in September, he's played 13 games in two seasons, Bristol City had an option for another year and decided against it, the standard of Greek league keeping is awful (see Roy Carroll) & he's done his best work for Barnsley over 4 years ago. If he looks Lee Baxteresque and has a CV that is Lee Baxteresquer, we shouldn't need to play him to see if he is Lee Baxteresque
We are basically now arranging things to operate on a season by season basis, without any consideration of the future.

Wilder has said there's been nothing from West Brom regarding Moore though.
Can't see it unless someone has offered him a shitloads of money. He played about 18 times for us last season, as second choice, at West Brom he'll be third choice so he wouldn't get near that, but 28 is a bit young to be going for pay days over playing time surely.
Either way think we'll be reyt but I just don't think he's going. Think there's more chance of it being Eastwood to a League 1 team on loan as someone above has said.

How odd it would be if Long ended up playing more Champ games than Moore next season. West Brom must be offering Moore an eye-watering salary for him to forego any chance of playing (barring an injury to Johnstone) and sit on the bench

They did say in portugal he was injured with a thigh strain but was playing golf with Henderson the day after (henderson posted a story on his instagram) - seemed odd

Moore was United's unsung hero in the promotion year. It was the first time since Paddy left we had a proper GK between the sticks. I don't recall any blunders or any criticism of him at the time. Last season he would have started if it wasn't for injury. When he came back into the team he did nothing wrong either and he save our ass against the pigs. Why we are dicking around with this position when the are glaring deficiencies elsewhere I do not know. Moore is a fine GK and is being replaced by a loanee and a fucking journeyman. United are chasing the $$$'s again but immediately some on here are blaming Moore for chasing a payday when there's not a shred of evidence to support this. Is anyone else fucking sick of this shitshow?
I do agree that Wilder has proved very efficient in sorting squads out so far but I’m interested in how you’ve come to that conclusion because I think we’ll have a small, ageing squad with quality in certain areas of the pitch with the evidence I’ve seen so far?
It’ll be an interesting next few weeks that is for sure, something that could make or break our season which ever way it goes.
