Hutchison, much to my regret because I was ecstatic when we signed who I saw as a proper footballer, was absolute bobbins for us. A goal scoring playmaker who did neither.

I agree that sometimes he was very casual and seemed uninterested. Having said that, when he did turn it on, he was a class act.
After leaving us he played 75 PL games for Everton, 40 for Sundlund and 63 for the CheatinAmmers.

Had he had the drive and attitude of let's say..............Nick Montgomery.........to go with his natural talent, he would have been one hell of a player.
Wouldn't you agree?

I really liked Glenn Cockerill...

Drunken arsehole.

What is the relevance of two entirely different players being wank?

Anyway, we’re fucked for ten years. Darling David’s gone.

Sounds like it's playtime for my pet troll. Before we go any further, congratulations for managing to compose a post without a soundbite. Also, have you managed to come up with a final figure for the number of goals scored from corners in the WC despite there being "incontrovertible proof" that you don't score from any? Don't ask me by the way, I lost count.

Anyway, back to the thread. There is "incontrovertible proof" that Man U is not a good source of loanees for us and that Wilder's judgement on the last one was questionable to say the least. Not to mention the £900k it reportedly cost us for the few months he spent on bench warming duty.

And the way things are unravelling at the club, I may have been a tad optimistic about the 10 years.

What are you talking about you knobend?
Mitrovic was much more rich than Hogan. He had premier league wages, there's only Fulham or Wolves that could have afforded him.

I don't know if you've noticed but we're under 3 weeks from the start of the season and our backup strikers to 2 33 year olds are Caolan Lavery and Ched Evans. With 2 30+ year olds supporting them.
We don't have time to play games, we're not in a position to do so. We have replaced a loan goalkeeper with a loan goalkeeper - that's it.

Can i just point out that Hogan is presently injured, so even if both our 33 year old strikers legs go in September, Hogan would be of no use despite you spunking the vast majority of our budget on him, knobend. I must admit to having read most of this thread and becoming more and more incredulous at the total lack of financial awareness you have been showing, but stuck with it just to see when it finally sunk in that you knew sweet FA and admitted you had been on the wind up all along. Sadly this has not transpired, and you continue to spout bollocks. Good luck, and in the words of the immortal Vinny Jones.....'It's been emotional... UTB

You want to be careful with all those likes mate, you really are in danger of being the most agreed with poster on this forum.
And no matter how hard you try - Grizzly isn't going to shag you.

Three paragraphs there.

Your final paragraph is a matter for your own private gratification.

The first suggests a nonsense proposition of me asserting that nobody ever scores from a corner. The statistical fact is only a very low percentage of corners produce goals. What next, long-throws or 70 yard punts? I’m sure they produce goals from time to time.

The middle one is complete nonsense containing an example of a non-sequitur of classical proportions. It ought to be in text books.

Nice retort... i tend to give likes to people i agree with, who appear to talk sense, and don't resort to name calling to try and force a flawed point through. Don't worry, maybe one day i will 'Like' something you write, and anyway, how do you know Grizzly hasn't shagged me already?

I think you need to go back to your gin bottle and come back on line in a few hours when your humour has improved.

Upping the wages is option 1, a better option is to scout in Ligue 2, Eredivisie, Danish Superliga etc. Wages in the Championship and even league one are way higher than the wages at most teams in the eredivisie, Danish Superliga etc. Just needs to be more creative.

Or we could just buy proven chumpionship players like Jordy Roads and spunk him 40K per week ( thats 2 million £ pounds per year for those without an abacus or calculator) to show how committed we are to the best investment history has ever known, AKA the Premier League.

Unless you are Sunderland of course -

Well grafikhaus does (clever sod!) ;)

For anyone wondering Jack Marriott is valued at £6.5mil by Peterborough. And people think he's in any way a realistic or 'cheaper' alternative for us.

Fucking lord above.
What are Villa asking for Hogan? (Bearing in mind they paid 9m for him).

Undisclosed?
That would be what we say we get him for if it happens (can't see it) but would point out that Villa have turned down 5m for Chester who also cost them 9m.
(Surprised Bruce is hanging around now the going has got tough).

Gallagher’s wages are a stumbling block
Yes I should imagine so. Same with Hogan. Same with most strikers at Championship level, except the very old, the very young, the very injury prone and the very desperate.

It’s a “Sheffield” thing though this isn’t it? Not wanting to pay for quality things. It’s part of the culture of this city and our club has epitomised it for decades.

“Buy cheap - Buy twice” I say unto those of such peasant-like outlook. “Pretend to pay and they’ll pretend to play”.

I think the OP has a point actually. It’s ok to be prudent, all in favour of that, but there comes a time when if you don’t pay the market rate you don’t compete and may not even survive in that market.

Our problem is worsened now because there are two opposing parties who have to agree before we can make a move.

Be interesting to see how we get out of this mess!

How does that relate to S6 then?

“Pretend to pay and they’ll pretend to play”.

I thought so too when we signed Leon.

We could have captured proven, ambition, quality costs, investment, Joardy Roads (lead to no-where) for only £ 2.5/3 million quid for one season only.

# wheresmeseasonticketrefund you shortsighted owners

We need to spend £ 6 million on a Washing Machine - it worked for Cardiff though they had a (twat *) for a manager.

* opinions may vary, his stats for success may not.

Imagine the headlines on this forum - wow, we have spented £ 6 million we have ambition and are going places, McCabe is a god etc. ??

Actually Hutchison only looked bobbins because the players around him were about 7 pages behind him. He was light years ahead of anyone else in the team, as he proved when he went elsewhere to play with better players.

Or he’s not worth £25k a week after a handful of career goals :D

Without wishing to stake another £10 that I don’t have on a bet, Rhodes will outscore any United player this season. He’s a quality forward, who for whatever reason, had a bad spell at Wednesday.

It’s not about spunking money though is it? As an analogy, if you are the owner of a fish restaurant, you may think that the current market rate for cod is too expensive. But you either pay it & offer the same dishes as your rivals or you don’t have it on the menu and start using pollack instead. It’s a business choice, but when your restaurant isn’t successful because every fucker likes cod and not pollack, which to be fair although seen as a cod substitute is a fairly strong tasting white fish, you know why. It’s not because of bad luck and the price of cod, it’s because you refused to pay it. :)

Can’t agree with that. The analogy perhaps works with Sabella but United brought in a lot of experienced Prem players and accomplished players.

Was Don better than Gordon Cowans? Far beyond Deane, Fjortoft, Borbokis, Dellas? Saunders?

I think his complete lack of trying or giving a shit may have contributed. Obviously talented but never gave much of anything for us. Right player but at the wrong time in his career, it happens - look at Leon

I remember him being sick before taking a corner in a midweek game. Rumour had it that he'd been out with Gordon Cowans the night before. The latter was red-faced and got hooked at half time.
