If it's true that Blackman was offered for a few million, today's news just shows how much of a decent investment it would be.

Southampton 'after 1 season on loan with norwich', have just bought Angus Gunn for 13.8m!

I agree, season upon season I say it will implode at some point, but I'm proven wrong time and time again.

Look at the likes of West Ham, they're linked with 7/8 players all around the 20-30m mark. Jamal Lescelles is one of these, half decent yeah, but 25m apparently. Harry Maguire is going to be 50-60m based on that.

Forest are the big uns.

They had a go at throwing money at it a couple of years ago, failed miserable, but had Assambolonga to sell which covered their losses. They're now going for it again, spent 30 odd million on a new squad (including 20m for 2 Portuguese players that have hardly played a professional game between them).

I wouldn’t say ‘poor’, but it makes it appear ‘light’ in the circumstances. But that’s more to do with Southampton paying grossly over the odds for him. It also makes ramsdale’s transfer fee look low.

If you’d asked me what I thought Gunn’s value was, i would’ve said £2.5m to £3.5m-ish. He’s 22yrs old and played just only 50 professional games, all at championship level. Admittedly he’s played for the England u21’s and was called up for the pre World Cup training camp, but he’s directly comparable to Blackman. Plus, I can’t see him being first choice at Southampton, whilst Forster is there. Absolute madness.

Gunn is absolutely World-Class at time wasting (sorry "game management") though.
He's already shown he can spend up to 15 minutes of the game farting about in his box before taking goal kicks.
If he continues at his current rate of progression, he might be able to push that up to maybe 20 or even 30 minutes.
