Journeyman?? 3 clubs in 11 years, 7 years at Stoke, hardy a journeyman, if we could get him on a decent wage I'd be interested, rather have him pushing our strikers than ched

Your'e right; I was maybe a bit harsh. He's had a great career and is a 100%er but would be on big wages and purely a stop gap. He'd be dead money too.If he came and helped us go up none of that would matter.

100% commitment player. Always liked him. Thought that Stoke missed him last season and I reckon would have maintained Prem status with him available as an option.

I'd love him. Committed. Hard-working.

You never know, some players like being in and around a first-team and Burnley might pay him up to take a lesser wage with us.

If we sign him, do we also sign two other strikers?

If we signed him and only one other striker..... then what type would the other one be?

I can only see him as an additional third option.

We were after 2 strikers before we sold Brooks weren’t we?
So surely now we need 3 and if they were to be Hogan, Gallagher and Walters then that would cover all the different types of striker that CW alluded to.

But then none of them would exactly be a Brooks replacement.

Signing those 3 and an attacking midfielder type would seem excessive.

I can see why Wilder would want Walters in addition though, he's different, he's a workhorse.

I think Walters would be an interesting signing and give us something a bit different up top. But the bloke’s even older than Clarke or Sharp - he’s 34! Not got many miles left in the tank unfortunately.

We need youth and pace up top. Whatever happened to that kid from Watford who sat all day at Sheffield station waiting to join us? Forgot his name now, but he sounded more like the type of player we should be looking at?

Jerome Sinclair.

It's a yes from me - not as the answer to the question of who'll score 20 goals next season but he'll definitely be a great addition

I was told by a certain sheff utd, let's call him, employee!, whilst having a couple of bottles in a peak district hostillery, that Cheds looking to push for a starting place this season, and his fitness levels have shot up since his op........
Not writing him off just yet.

Good for him, but alas, I have this feeling we've already seen the best of him

I obviously understand people's concern regarding age but when its put up as "he's 34/35" as if thats it forget about anything else, why? Ok, if he was 38/39 but not 34, how old is Ronaldo, fuck im he's around 37 so cannot be any good can he.

Fair doos, but i don't think you've used a typical example BB (and he's just turned 33)

There are a few players who can still do it at 35

There are many players who are past their best when hitting 35 and continue to go downhill in my opinion

I am and have. But then again all my world cup bets have been shite predictions as well. Back England. I am backing the draw and Sweden in extra time.

Just read Buffon has signed for PSG nd he is 41! I accept he's a goalie but PSG are one of the big spenders now, unbelievable

Yeah, but come on. That is Buffon. There's three years of class keeping left in that guy.

This maybe true, the guy with the Peroni in the Hathersage boozer thinks otherwise, and I'm going to go along with him at the min;)

I’d like that. I’d like that very much. To see that lad get his career back after what he’s been through would be fitting.

I understand snowy but he's gone to a team looking to win the champions league, if he had signed a contract at a mid premier league team it would have stilled raised eyebrows, I suppose we should ignore the age and just look at his fitness and ability,

I would have no problem if the other striker we brought in was young and on a permanent contract. If not, we're going to have to replace all our strikers next season. I can't see Walters signing for anyone on a lower wage just for one year. He may well go to the MLS.

Jerome Sinclair.
Did he? Right, that explains that then.

Strange how there's been no mention of him since then. Do you reckon Wilder has chalked fuck on this idea, or could he still be a contender? And what about Ashley Cole's lad? Is he still ripping it up for the cockle hunters? Are we not still interested in him either?

If Walters comes in as a replacement for Donaldson then I'd be delighted with this.

He offers us a different option, more of a physical approach which we need off the bench. Providing he's on low wages and isn't demanding a start then I think this could be a good signing

Would imagine there`s more chance of me playing for Utd than Sinclair, fuck him.

Devante Cole joined Wigan in Jan, not surprised you missed it, he`s not scored a goal for them, and was basically poor when he did get some rare game time.

Very much doubt it on both accounts.

yes just looked him up and didn't realise he'd gone to Wigan.

I think the lad is forever living in his father's shadow. Can't be easy as there's a lot to live up to there.

The thing is though, Wilder was dead keen on bringing him here, so we believe. Looks like we may have had a lucky escape then.

Never rated him, can`t understand the chase to be honest.

Seem him for Bradford, Barnsley, & Fleetwood , and he`s been poor every time, he does nick the odd goal every now & then, and I think you are spot on about his Dad, but it has helped him get moves too.
