What sort of ban is he likely to get? I've allsorts from 2 weeks to yrs.
If he's found guilty should he be sacked?
He's been a good servant to the club so personally I think he should be given a break.
Good luck Paddy.

Oh no his hearing is going as well as failing a drug test!

All depends what the extent of the failure is. Nothing official has come out about what the failure was.

If its recreational drugs then yes. If its a cough medicine mistake then he should sit out his ban and work his way back to the 1st team after.

His hearing has been cancelled.

No reason as to why at the moment and no new date set.

Apparently the postponement was at Paddy's request.

Stranger and stranger.

Strange to ask for the hearing to be postponed, I'd have thought he'd want to know asap just what the result is going to be? And certainly better for the club to get a decision sooner rather than later so we can make decisions on eg loan vs signing for another keeper.

Can't say, but i wouldn't be suprised if an announcement regarding bunn signing permanently on Thursday happens!

Is that just putting 2 & 2 together because Paddy's career is over? Or do you actually see Blackburn being willing to sell Bunn? I was under the impression that this loan was more to get him experience than to try & find potential suitors.

Regarding Bunn signing - that's me putting 2 & 2 together. I'd have thought that the blub only got him on a month loan because ofone of two reasons:

1) We would know the outcome of the Paddy situation before the month was up and so would be in a position to make it a perma move before the window closes.

2) Blackburn dont want more than a month as thye'll want him back

My thought (see: hopes) are that united were very shrewd and have an offer already on the cards for Bunn, otherwise i'd question getting someone for only 1 month when they could have signed a perma replacement and gotten them experience with the back 4...

I hope your suspicions are right. Bunn's of a good age & I could see him becoming a valuable player for us.

Do we have any idea how much Blackburn would want for him? I wouldn't be surprised if they wanted a big fee, seeing as he's a young keeper with potential.

You're probably right regarding the fee...but United aren't stupid...people asked why they didn't re-invest the Naughton/Walker money....this is the reason...

I'd say there's at least 3 mil put away for a keeper!

I would imagine Blackburn would want at least 1.5-2 million for Bunn, but I'm not sure how much they paid for him. Another option I wouldn't mind is Lonergan from Preston. Although I would imagine they would probably want 3-5 million for him, not least for the inconvenience of selling him to a rival.

Do we need to be paying the bloke for the length of any ban? A few weeks yes but any longer and he becomes a financial millstone

Bunn signing??

Just regarding the bunn signing if am not mistaken he wasn't given a squad number by blackburn he is there 4th keeper i can see us getting he for 1.5m max and may be some add ons

Can't see him wanting to postpone going in his favour think he has played his last game for the blades feel sorry for my little brother he is a mascot against West Brom and he put Paddy down has his favourite player

Totally agree. This does not help the Club at all.
We can't go on with this uncertainty. Need to have a PERMANENT No1 in place now.

It is very frustrating to have this hanging over us I agree. But I don't see the sense in spending money we need elsewhere in the team on a keeper we may not even need. If we go out and spend on a first choice keeper and then Kenny is cleared we'll have 3 keepers (not including Haber). Leaving us to either move on Bennett, Kenny, or the one we'd just signed. Personally I'd have got rid of Bennett a while ago as I've never rated him. But having 2 first choice keepers is a luxury we can't afford when we are crying out for strengthening in other areas.

Personally think its time to move Paddy on.

Why is his agent requesting more time to prepare for the case? what they been doing for the last 6 odd weeks?

To not be ready now shows even more lack of respect for his employers, he surely must realise that he plays an important position for us and that he's left us with a problem we didnt need, as someone has pointed out we need to be spending on areas of the team that need it, central midfield for instance.

Now he's requested a postponement so we and the club have to wait 'til when to find out if the dumb f**k gets a ban.

So what do we do now Paddy? do we put a bid in for Bunn and try to sign him permanently or do we gamble that this extra time you've requested means you've sorted your case and you wont get banned, and therefore free to play for us meaning we dont need to buy a keeper?

Innocently taken over the counter cold remedy, Im starting to have doubts.

Anyone think Paddy is postponing it in the hope that it gets too late for us to make a decision on whether to sign a new keeper?

IE, Paddy is only expecting to get a short ban and by the time the hearing comes around, we'll be unable to sign a keeper as the transfer window will be closed thus meaning we can't really let Kenny go as we haven't got a good enough keeper in the squad?

He's probably only half aware of what's going on, to be fair...
