I consider myself left wing and support England. I also know people who are of a similar political persuasion and support England. I also know people who are Tory voters who support England and some people who don’t give a fuck about politics and support England.

I don’t subscribe to the few that supporting the national football team is some kind of 21st century extension of the crusades. When shit rags like the Sun attempt to do so it’s embarrassing.

If supporting England isn’t your thing that’s fair enough. It’s none of my business.

People are happy, people are talking about football rather than Brexit and I’ve got an excuse to get pissed during the week. Just fucking enjoy it while it lasts.

I got a kick out of Trippier's dive.
He got up while the Columbian player was moaning at the ref Trippier had a big smile on his face while talking to the player.I hope he was saying something like, all those Columbian diving lessons I took really paid off for me.

That is not what I have done.
It is just the same as when people hide from supporting The Blades because we are crap for a few years and then by some fluke we get to Wembley and they all want to be there.
I understand a bit of that none support if it coincides with a rough period in life. Thing is those who have followed England as a natural process though growing up in the country and then just because our National team fails due to whatever circumstance, those supporters who stated they are not bothered and would rather watch a fishing match suddenly become interested again as if they never said such a thing once a bit of success comes along.

Brexit is why England are doing well, the independence of the nation has begun, Brexit and WC winners, Germany out, what a result.

I’d say that’s up to them when it comes to international football. It’s not a choice remember. When it comes to club football the “glory supporters”, (“glory” being a relative term for Blades) I’m with you, but internationally people don’t give a shit when things are going bad, it happens the world over.

You see that is the opposing view that you do n't get.
Your club nay be a personal choice and also the nation you support is that. It may depend on your parentage, where you were born or even because you visited a place. There could be many other reasons also?
You may also choose not to support anyone? Once You have made your choice to support a team, for a length of time. Then, most would agree you don't change just because they are on a bad run or are badly run. Or have a bunch or ego players.
To me and many others, it is as much a part of our blood and is a part of us.
So those who turned their backs on the team whilst doing bad,I hope they enjoy their gardening or whatever they are doing tomorrow. They may now be wanting Sweden to win but don't celebrate with me and those like me if England win.
Your position was explained before and accepted.
Therefore why do you keep taking my position as a dig at you?

I know it’s not a dig at me, I don’t take things personally on here at all. I just think that having a dig at English people for not supporting England isn’t justified. I get the point about them now jumping on the bandwagon but leave them to it, it’s only themselves that they’re kidding.

I don’t wave the same flag as British Neo-Nazis. Many Blades do, it seems. I never vote in the same lobby as such fascists and democracy-killers as are capable of making a cross. Many Blades did in June 2016.

So therefore you appreciate that as an England supporter, I don’t like being tarred with the same brush as those people. (For the record, I don’t have a drop of Anglo Saxon blood in me but I was born here, grew up here and identify as English and British and support England).
