A Brooks plea

20 year old who showed a few flashes of ability above anything we've seen before? Had 4 or 5 memorable moments in just 30 games? Full international after 10 senior games? Player of the tournament at Toulon? I think we're allowed to be disappointed he's gone without playing a full season FFS.

Being royally pissed off that he's left and having faith that Wilder is an excellent manager are completely separate thoughts.

Good points, very well made - the latter is key.

I'm less than convinced that it's a good deal. He was our main source of star quality, gone and I think we'll notice that pretty sharpish next year and we'll miss him. We don't have anyone else to turn a game like he did. I'm even less convinced it was a good deal when £6-8m in this division only buys you that twat Madine.

That money will build a lot of new student flats.

Maybe the ones just announced at the old stokes tiles building could be called the Brooks plazza? Or whatever that translates to in Chinese

Fuck all chance of wilder getting anymore than a million out of this deal, just fleck leaving to look forward to now , then we'll get mccabe coming on radio Sheffield with some tub thumping rallying cry

Deja fucking vu

I think its a very good deal for what we have seen of Brooks, a few cameos and goal against Leeds. I keep hearing people say potential. Jordan Slew had "potential". For every Kyle walker the academy produces there are more Joe Ironside types. So to get £12 million plus for a 22 year old who hasn't made more than a hand full of senior appearances is in my book very good.

When you sell a plot of land you don't ask for £15,000,000 because there is the potential to build a housing estate on the land. You pay for what the land is worth with perhaps a small premium for this "potential". Brooks is not a proven premier league player or even a proven Championship player and as such I feel the fee is more than fair for once. There isn't even a Bladey Bladeness factor in this one he was a Man City player a couple of years ago and is from Warrington.
You’re right but any smart land sale also has an uplift clause in it. If the purchaser gets planning permission, the seller receives a substantial dividend. I think £12m for him at this stage of his career is a fair price but the key thing is whether we’ll have a long term financial interest in him so that, if he does a Bale and ends up a Galactico we get more paydays along the way.

Clichéd nonsense. Embarrassing tantrums. Agenda-driven twaddle.

It’s the Bladesfans’ Way.

How many games did WonderDave turn? In how many was he anonymous? Here’s a clue. The latter is a greater number.

He’s getting better already. They all do.

Sorry Kozzy but that's some serious rubbish written there - you say we'll notice pretty sharpish that we've lost a source of star quality. But how do you notice something that no one has seen?

2, maybe 3 games he's played well. Basham must be on Ronaldo's level if that's the scale we're applying here.

The Brooks deal was excellent all round, although because Wilder orchestrated the move we now need to see how he backs himself up with transfer dealings.

I suppose we can only judge going forward. Not really a tantrum I don't think Brooks leaving is the be all and end all, its how any money received will be used that concerns me. I've not in our history known us to reinvest a large percentage of any transfer fee received.

I hope I'm wrong and you can call me every name under the sun, and continually be embarrassed by our 'support' :)

Irony. A state of affairs or an event that seems deliberately contrary to what one expects and is often wryly amusing as a result.

In this instance, I suggest it would be.
Change 'wryly amusing' to hilarious and you've got a deal!
