So how exactly could we spend the munneh?

In which case then surely the same applies for the signings we make. The Brooks money can pay the 50% with instalments covering instalments.
Never understood that argument. As if we are some how hard done by..
Not at all saying we are hard done by. Just pointing out that we won't have £12m to splurge on players here and now and that even if we did, we wouldn't.

We will have £12mil if we want it though, as deals will surely be like for like. However, I do agree that we won't.

Personally (gaurnteed was a stupid word for me to use but) Hogan and Marriott for me.
Hogan has got 15 in the Championship before at Brentford and I'd like to think we make more chances than they did.
Marriott seem like Billy but 10 years younger. He got 27 last and has a boat load of confidence and momentum. To be honest I reckon both would cost about £6m but the biggest stumbling block would be Hogans wages, Villa will have thrown money at him whereas Marriott would probably cost a bit less.

Guessing games in the closed season are better than playing scrabble but we may be sure that every player has an idea of his worth OK inflated worth, so we may speculate that a player from club X will cost overall less than a player from club Y Unfortunately which ever player we go for will probably cost more than we have budgeted for

No munneh to spend until the deal is completed

Has Brooksy actually completed his transfer?

Not heard confirmation and would've thought it done and dusted by now

Hopefully Spurs will come in and scupper it with a bigger offer. Certainly if we're not getting Mousset on loan. They'd probably loan Brooks back to us too, not sure if we'd want that though.

I think they've delayed announcing it until Sunday. Sunday is always a good day to bury bad news.

I hope we've got a clause in the Brooks deal that prevents him being loaned out to a rival straightaway. Wouldn't surprise me to see him lining up for Swansea in the first game.

I've never felt so cheated as I do with Brooks for some reason. Maybe it's because we took him out of Citeh's bin and put the work in at the academy, showed faith and he didn't really put a proper shift in for us. It sort of feels like he was never our player, like Jamal.

I know United only did so much and he's a natural talent, and professional footballers aren't really loyal creatures but still, I'd expect a little more than that.

To be honest I wouldn't want him back even though I know he's a quality player, he can coco.

That’s from Peterborough’s owner. Also said that there is two other clubs working on agreeing terms with him.

And that's excactly what he's done Tom. New agent was the spark that set wheels in motion, but the boy obviously fancied the move so as with Wilder's attitude, why would you want a player who didn't want to be here? After all, a bigger monthly wage, signing on fee (could be hundred's of thousands if not million(s), so best to cut the lad some slack. Flip this over and we get a decent fee - forget the silly valuations, it is what it is, and it increases Wilder's chances of bringing in better players. It'll all work out in the end, so let's hope at the end of the season we're in contention for promotion uh? UTB!

Aye. I'm quite happy with the fee to be honest, I think about 75% of that going to Wilder and our good reputation after last season should do us well. Plus we've still got everyone else plus a years experience.

Cannae wait for the first game to get back to the Lane.

Marcus Tullius Cicero says, a room without brooks is like a body without a soul. Or was that books, I am so old I cannae remember :-)
