CONFIRMED David Brooks to Bournemouth

Simple answer. JOC and Fleck are much more integral to the team than Brooks.

The difference is that if we received £10m for either JOC or Fleck, we could spend some of that to buy a competent centre half or centre midfielder. Not necessarily as good, but a competent replacement. Brooks is irreplaceable for a club in our position. He offers something totally different and it's not just his impact on the pitch - he changes the mood just by warming up.

If Wilder doesn't have to sell, and that's what he said recently, then this seems a baffling move. Brooks cost us nothing so no worries about our recouping investment, I doubt he's the highest earner at the club and he's on a four year deal. Sometimes with United it looks like we can't get rid fast enough.

He always looks like making something happen, he plays with energy, no fear and is utter class on the ball, he has grown so much in the short time we've seen him to this point. He always threatens and is the key to our link up play. I'd go as far to say he should be starting most weeks next season. He's the long term successor up front or in a Duffy role, I really wish the club would hold on to him. He's a class act. He's the best youngster since Harry and better than many more from the club before that, possibly ever.

People making out he’s a bit crap now that he’s leaving is par for the course...you’ve hit the nail on the head there Kozzy_is_my_Dad

Their second offer. Could be that we’ve spoken to other clubs, possibly Tottenham, to see if they are willing to beat Bournemouth’s second offer and they’ve said no.

Wilder isn’t exactly going to come out and say that a player wants to leave as it would put us in a worse position.
Possibly, it looks like Spurs might be in for him as well now which would at least make more sense.

Hopefully Wilder will be able to shed some light on the matter. I know it’s difficult for him, he obviously can’t wave a flag and say that he’s got a bid wad of cash to spend, but right now this has ‘same owd’ written all over it IMO. Hopefully I’m wrong and he’ll really be allowed to strengthen.

Wonder if we can chuck some of our fans into the deal too? Some of the comments on this thread are fucking laughable.

Telling wilder to fuck off with him if he agreed to it? Give it a fucking rest honestly. He started 9 games. 20 sub appearances and scored 3 goals. Was tried as a striker towards the end of the season and didn't look great. Had tons of potential but that's all it was.

Can't wait for Bournemouths view from with some of these comments.....

The apologists for United selling Brooks are pathetic. I've never been so ashamed of United as I am now. The small minded fans who think this is a good deal make the pig fans look intelligent. Small minded city, small minded fans. What a fucking joke.
How do you type from that far up your arse? Genuine question.

Dem knees are a jerking in the agenda room.

So it's a good idea then to sell Brooks? Like it was to sell Currie, Jones, Deane, Fjortoft, Beattie, Walker, MaGuire etc. That's one hell of a promotion statement to send out if it is.

Bournemouth...

FUCKING BOURNEMOUTH

What's Bournemouth got to offer? I hear you ask. Well, take it away Google...

"Bournemouth is a seaside resort on the southern coast of England. It's known for having 7 miles of beaches, Victorian architecture and buzzing nightlife in areas such as the Triangle. The resort is also home to Bournemouth Pier, an activity centre with an obstacle course, a climbing wall and a zip line. The 2-mile long Bournemouth Gardens offer rock gardens, an aviary and plant species from 3 continents."

Ooooh, a zip line and an aviary. Roger me fucking senseless will you, I'm that excited. Jesus shitting Christ.

Fucking Bournemouth.

No like united to release details of a transfer, must be to quell fans anger

If a premier league club offers a big sum and 5x one of the lads wages, how can we say no? Really? I think id be pretty pissed if it got turned down if i was the player

GLTTL

I tell you what lads, Bournemouth fans must be pissing themselves that they're being slagged off by fans of a club which hasn't won a major trophy for going on 100 years but claim to be massive.

We're bigger than other clubs based purely on our geographical location? The fact we're located in a major city gives us a divine right to be in the top flight? This is next level Wednesday bullshit.

Give over, it's embarrassing.

We’re cap-doffing fucking Bournemouth now. Are there no depths to which some of you will not sink?A1106378-B8DC-4921-899A-4D7EC0BB8D9A.jpeg

Fucking Bournemouth.

How do you type from that far up your arse? Genuine question.

I've watched United through the sale of Jones, Birchenall, Salmons, Currie, Deane, Jagielka, Walker, Maguire plus a lot of others in between. Most of them went for fucking peanuts. I don't even want to justify my stance on this, the club can just fuck off.

Just posting here so I can look back at the end of the summer xfer window, end of the january xfer window and at the end of the season

The thing is, we don't have much money at the moment so we can't keep our best players. But this will be our second year in the Championship after a long period of league one. And we had a great first year. But this is the perfect time to sort out the financial side of our club. Even if we finish 14th this year it's no big deal, if it means that we can afford to keep players like Brooks in a couple of years.

See my post directly above yours. The answer is nowhere.

Well I’m disappointed. As much as it’s all conjecture now, though, I feel like it might not have a cataclysmic effect on the immediate future.

Long term, I’m sad that we won’t get to see him fulfil his potential at united.

It is increasingly challenging to fend off cynicism every time a promising player comes through the youth team.

I don't know about crazy but next season is a big one for him.

At his age he needs to kick on and start fulfilling his potential or he will start to get left behind.

I think that he has more chance of doing that with us than at a premier league club where he may well be a "bit part" player.

From his point of view it may be a tough call. Big money now because it may be his only chance, or stay put and hopefully progess by playing much more football.

Having been dropped once by Man City I'm hoping he may show caution and choose the latter route.

If he doesn't then he will go for whatever we can get for him as Wilder won't keep a player that doesn't want to be here. (Quite rightly in my book)

If he wants to go then he will go.

Wilder won't keep a player that doesn't want to be here. (Quite rightly in my book)

The fee will be whatevet we can get.

What the fans think he's worth is irrelevant.

As I've said elsewhere I think it's in his best interests to stay here for another season as Jagielka did before going on to play for England, but the ball is in his court and he holds all the aces.

Completely agree.

Again as I've said before he was dumped by Man City and my hope is that he will use that as a learning experience and stay with us so that he can play regularly for us to further his career, rather than warm a premiership bench hoping for an occasional kick.

I don't think he's a top level player yet but in my view he could be 12 months down the line if he has a good season with us.

I think he's a level headed lad so I think he will stay, but we will see.

Maybe I misjudged him.

As others have said his change of agent is probably significant and it's likely that he's had his head turned whilst playing for Wales.

After that everything above applies re Wilders attitude, the fee, and who is in control.

Wilder won't want a player that doesn't want to be here and the fee will be whatever we can get.

As.far as I'm concerned if he wants to go he can fuck right off and I hope he disappears without trace.

Fucking Bournemouth.

Fucking Bournemouth.

This kind of talk makes us sound like the S6 lot.

Bournemouth are a Premier League club and we're not. In footballing terms, Bournemouth is a step up from Sheffield United at this point in time. That's how it is and will be until we join/replace them.

A club that sells it best players. Not many of them about.

Put up or shut up with your constant anti-club drivel. It’s a tedious and malicious agenda.

I’ll bet you a thousand pounds we are not relegated next season. The money can be in a neutral account tomorrow. Or shut the fuck up and back the club you claim to support.
