CONFIRMED David Brooks to Bournemouth

Brooks' agent's job is easy, he just needs to put 3 scenarios to him:

1. Kyle Walker. Leave, become a millionaire overnight, and then go on to even bigger better things ie. £100k a week and a World Cup

2. Jordan Slew. Leave, become a millionaire overnight, fail to fulfil potential and drop down the leagues but you're still a millionaire.

3. Diego De Girolamo. Stay, suffer a horrific career-ruining injury, slowly disappear having never fulfilled potential or earned big bucks.

When it's set out like that it's an (unfortunately) easy decision for him.

I just hope the board disclose the figures this time in an effort to appease us fans

"Here's the 5 year contract that just needs your signature David and here are the estate agent brochures on houses in sandbanks with sea views that you asked for. Just one final thing David, Bournemouth have asked me how you want your salary paid every month; by direct debit into your new coutts bank account or do you want the club to stuff a ford transit to the brim and drive it round so you can use the low denomination notes as toilet paper? Oh, I nearly forgot, i've got you booked in on saturday at the local tattooist for your full sleeve."

It’s reported that this is their second offer and Wilder told us only a couple of weeks ago that none of his players wanted away.

Their second offer. Could be that we’ve spoken to other clubs, possibly Tottenham, to see if they are willing to beat Bournemouth’s second offer and they’ve said no.

Wilder isn’t exactly going to come out and say that a player wants to leave as it would put us in a worse position.

All you've done is throw your toys out the pram tonight. Bet your Mrs is dreading you coming upstairs tonight. Chill out. Move on.

And your massive post ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ telling us all we are naughty is'nt..................i'm totally chilled mate no need to get with school ground stuff ^^^^^^ talk like a grown up to each other.

Did the Lundstram bit upset you,if it did i am truly sorry about that, please acccept my appologies, does not alter my opinion tho,its all about opinions i never try to change anyone elses opinion to suit mine.

Shame that money rules a young players head. There is absolutely no way any player would pick Bournemouth over Sheffield United other ££££’s in their pocket.

Money means a lot, but you’d like to think a player would take into account a bit more than that,

Bournemouth F.C. playing in front of 12000 even in the Premiership, or Sheffield United playing in front of 27000 a league lower?

A traditional top tier club like Sheffield United or.....well, Bournemouth???

I'm sorry, and this is not just aimed at you, but this whole attitude that "why would x player chose a small Premier League club over such a massive club like ours is bullshit.

Traditional top tier club? Have we been since David Brooks has been born? We've not been since I was born and I'm twice his age! Why would a footballer care that we were pretty good in the 19th century? Give a toss about history?

If I were a footballer and you offered me a club with a large fanbase which isn't exactly likely to get promoted from the Championship on £10k per week or a Premier League club on £30k per week, I'm off to the seaside. He doesn't start regularly for us. Could be on a bench against Bolton or a bench against Man City....

It's a no-brainer decision. He's much better off at Bournemouth than Spurs or Liverpool because he has a chance of actually playing. They also play attractive attacking football which will suit how he plays. Probably more than our style of football does.

Personally I'm nowhere near as disappointed as many, or as I have been with countless other sales over the years.

However I'd love to know what the agreed budget was from the other week, and if a Brooks sale was factored in. The person on BM who people are quoting, commented a week or two ago that any Brooks money would be given to Wilder on top of 20 million.

I'm somewhat sceptical to say the least that Wilder will be given 30 million to spend on various sorts of fees for new players.

Wait and see I suppose, but I can't help but wonder if this was the plan to fund transfers this summer. The business we do should give a decent indication.

Would have been nice to see Brooks improve and develop with us but I'm not totally convinced about how far he can go at present. Needs to strengthen notably for starters imho.

I certainly think we can improve without him assuming Wilder is given all the money and a bit more.

Every club in the world bar a couple of elite clubs are selling clubs. Barcelona lost one of their best in neymar to a "bigger fish". Man Utd, biggest club in the world?? Couldn't stop Ronaldo (or Beckham) leaving for Madrid.

Man U didn't sell Ronaldo to fucking Bournemouth for £10m.

I took that to read the current wage bill plus wages on new players plus fees. Not £20m extra.

I tell you what lads, Bournemouth fans must be pissing themselves that they're being slagged off by fans of a club which hasn't won a major trophy for going on 100 years but claim to be massive.

We're bigger than other clubs based purely on our geographical location? The fact we're located in a major city gives us a divine right to be in the top flight? This is next level Wednesday bullshit.

Give over, it's embarrassing.

Ah well. I'm on to the acceptance bit.

Can't say he's not gone down in my estimations a bit because I'd have thought he might have a bit more about him but unless you really love United you wouldn't stay when your agent waves a wad at you that could beat a whale to death.

I'm just glad we've got Wilder though to tell it to us straight I'm expecting a "yeah it's disappointing but some people get new agents and want status and money" and hopefully announce a couple of signings to take the edge off.

At least we've still got one Wales full international.

If he goes to Tottenham he wants his head read even more than he does for leaving us for Bournemouth.

If you're a footballer aren't you supposed to want to play football? No chance of that at Spurs. He can't always get past Mark Duffy and Billy Sharp on the team sheet here, is he going to push Dele Alli out?
They’ll loan him out to a Championship club, maybe even us.
He gets paid 50k a week and plays for a season or 2 in the Championship.

Sheffield isn’t a major city pal! :)

Let's hope so. I don't mind this sort of deal (as long as he comes back to us) because unless we get to the prem soon it was obvious he'd be off based on his trajectory, just wish we could own the player for a bit before we sell them instead of having to bow down in deference to the big dogs and maybe borrow them back

May well be the case. I read a post where he was trying to explain what he meant and said it didn't include wages, but tbf I found that too daft.

I'll wait and see before I form a strong opinion I think.

Just don't feel that disappointed tbh but can understand why some do.

No. They sold him to a team of equal status. One that had equal chance of success as them.
I'd be more disappointed if he'd gone to Norwich or Derby.

The fact is, and this is the part that many of our fans need to realise is that, it's no longer 1985 or 1993. Bournemouth, Burnley and the like are now established top flight teams. They have established themselves at the peak of the game in terms of money available in the top flight than has ever been available since the world began.

I think back to when I was growing up and getting into football. Think about 1992, when the PL began look at the shift now. Some teams have got in at the right time when the money is flowing and some BIG teams have drifted to oblivion - Leeds, Villa, Forest, Coventry, Ipswich, Us, Them. All of those teams are bigger than Bournemouth "historically". That is the key here - IN THE PAST

Then why not sell JOC and Fleck and add that on to the budget? Might be better to keep both them and Brooks and include it in the budget.

I’m not ITK but K someone who K’s someone else who K’s someone who is.
They reckon £15million & Wilder gets 75% to spend. 12 month loan back also being discussed or a player coming the other way.
Glad we got that sorted then......
