Yes please, I'd be thin, good looking, rich beyond comprehension and hung like something thats won the Arc De Triomph.

Anyway, back in this dimension, I'm fat, a face only a mother could love, poor as a church mouse and the only horse I'm hung like is My Little Pony.

Fucks sake.
No can do hung like an "Arc De Triomph" winner but do specialise in those hung like "Grand National" winners?;););)

When have we ever signed a player from them who didn't get better?

They were laughing about Geary*, Bromby and Quinn and they all left them behind and got to the PL with us.

*I know he wasn't direct sale.

No issue when they cost fk all

Big issue when we are talking potentially millions

Putting the pigs to one side. He's done fk all for about 3 seasons. He's on what? £40k/week? His fee would probably be beyond us. Why would we take that sort of a risk with a player that has no recent track record to even discuss?

Now stick the Wendy piss take factor in and for me personally he can indeed fk right off

whilst £4.85m profit on a player is obviously nice, I don’t think we should sell him. We will find it very difficult to replace him

First of all the rumour is bollocks, we’d be lucky to get £2m let alone £5m.

We’ve got to replace him soon anyway, he’s 33! We’ll be lucky if he’s more than a bit part player the season after next.

You’re forgetting that Adkins is in charge - so anything stupid could happen. He likes good honest hardworking lads with endeavour.

And we don’t need to replace him either. He can be preserved in Amber in a showcase in the boardroom when he’s done.

Just for clarity, Leon turned down Villa and a huge increase in wages to stay at the Blades in January, there’s no way he would go to Hull, no matter what the fee or wages are.

The rumour is complete bollocks!

I can't believe so many have fallen hook, line & sinker for this ridiculous story.

Hull won't be paying £5m for anyone this summer, especially a 33 year old with a reputation (last season aside) of not really being able to cut it in the Champ.

Perhaps they'll turn their attentions to Troy Deeney next?!?!
Troy Tempest I reckon, knowing Adkins.

Headlines in Sun:

“Muppet signs puppet”

It’s incomplete bollocks of the unfettered kind. :(

Every player has his price. If Hull offered £5m for him that would be a life-changing financial opportunity for Leon. He’ll never get another chance of a fee like that and at 33 (if that’s what he is?) he’d be mad not to say yes, no matter how bad Hull are.

Offer to take £4 million if they sign straight away. £5 million o_O

Leon has got a lot of dosh, he turned down life changing money to go to Villa, when will people get it into their heads that sometimes it’s not all about the money?

I thought he was off to Villa in January but he proved beyond doubt that good humanity is still well and truly out there.

Villa were gutted he didn’t go, he could’ve proved to be the one to send them to the Premier, he goes down as a great bloke for pissing the fat faced cunt Steve Bruce off.

I was wondering the other day whether if he'd gone he might have got them over the line into the Prem and stopped them imploding like the formation of a black hole. And then I laughed and laughed and laughed that he didn't. Leon, Leon, Leon.

No chance that this rumour is true. Complete arsespiffle

But if it does turn out to be true , which I find perfectly plausible , which camp are you in ?

Is it the " snatch their fucking hand off, he's 33 and never likely to score many goals again " or the , in my view more sensible " and for the same money, who can we buy who is guaranteed to score more " ?

Before arriving at your conclusion, please take into account that the likes of Teddy Sheringham , Kevin Phillips etc. had some of their most prolific years in their mid to late 30's .

Please also take into account that some of his suggested replacements include the likes of Nahki Wells , a player who has scored 10 goals in his last 57 games and last year , precisely none.

FFS.

Leon and Billy are both at the age where their legs could go at any time. Some on here suspected we were starting to see it already last season.

If we go into next season as we are with no one else decent there's an incredible risk one or more of them will fade and we won't be able to fix it until the JTW and by then we are more than half way through the season so it may be too late to fix.

If we get a decent offer for either we should take it IMO.

He's shown loyalty to us, which generally people bemoan the lack of in modern footballers, yet reading this thread shows why footballers probably shouldn't.

Good humanity ? Really ??

Appears to me he sulked about it for 2-3 months, probably regretting not taking the move.

Perhaps ;)

If you actually believe this story could be true I've got some magic beans for sale that you may be interested in.

So you think that Hull may have bid £5m for Leon?

Not necessarily , but it wouldn't surprise me if they did and compared to some of the figures being bandied around for certain players, it sounds pretty reasonable to me.

For that kind of money , he stands as good a chance as anybody I can think of to score 15 - 20 goals in the Championship next season.

I see where you're coming from.

The reason I asked, is given their current financial situation/transfer policy, it's practically impossible that Hull have made a bid.

You only generally sulk about something if you don’t get the chance to do something you wanted to, he decided he didn’t want to go to Villa so why would he sulk?

Perhaps he realised he had made a mistake.

Maybe !

PS I don’t buy this for a second btw, and certainly not at the prices bandied. But don’t be surprised if one of our strikers was to attract Dull interest ;)

What mistake could he have made? He doesn’t need the money and he wanted to stay with us. As I said, he could’ve only sulked if he wanted to go, in the end he didn’t. Villa are also in the same league as us next season, if they went up only then could it have possibly been a mistake.
