Mine was at the Fiesta. Can’t remember if it was Bernard Manning or the Three Degrees. I always get them confused...

Cheers!According to wikipedia, Doc Pace was 5' 8", Graham Shaw was 5' 8", Alan Hodgkinson was 5' 9"
Reece and Hockey should surely take the places of Gage and Ward. You could still have different kits.
It's good work there, feller.
So - have I got this correct?
You have:
Brown, Gage, Sabella, Peschisolido, Sharp, Currie, Ndlouvo, ???, Edwards, ???, Bradshaw, Ward
Are the other two Holdsworth (or is it Doc Pace) and Booker?
Booker's hairs a bit light if it is.
Can't believe Deane and Agana aren't in there, yet.
He was sat with his pals. Plus he still lives in Sheffield and has one of my pictures in his house.Ward? Mitch Fucking Ward? Ahead of Reece and Hockey? Is this a serious proposition?
Okay I will ensure they’re all on. Thanks again. Our 8 greatest ever players are
Ernest Needham
Billy Gillespie
Fred Tunstall
Jimmy Hagan
Joe Shaw
Tony Currie
Alan Woodward
Brian Deane
Brian Deane 6 foot 2, TC 5 foot 10 are the two tallest out of the 8
Are you worried that the likes of Needham, Gillespie and Tunstall are not ideal for marketing reasons?Okay I will ensure they’re all on. Thanks again.![]()
I’m completely with ya. That’s why I asked... Bobby Davison will get in there and yet apart from ‘that night’ didn’t really do owt compared to a guy that played 500 times for us?.
Thing is (and I guess this is the decision I need to make) I either I go popularity or historical. Prime example is I’ve popped Joe Shaw on there... and although I might not have done him justice not many know who he is.
I know I should put Needham on there Just unfortunately don’t think most will recognise him. Appreciate the input tho!
Yup.
Plus I’ve got a Tony Currie commission going in the club shop and while I’ve been chatting to them there has been the floating of the ‘possibility’ of a few things going in the match day programme... my Aim is to pitch/convince them that it should be the central poster in there.
View attachment 40277 Right then. I’ve atarted a 1889-2018 Team picture. See Above. (It’s not I repeat not going to be a Sheffield United eating lunch on a metal girder looking out over Sheffield - although I might do that at some point)
Anyway. I want to add a sprinkling of historic legends. My issue is I have no clue how tall they were!
I’ve got a good idea for e.g Edwards, Hemsley, Woodward etc but the ones I’m struggling with that I’m going to add are:
Derek Pace
Graham Shaw
Jimmy Hagan
Len Badger
Alan Hodgkinson - 5’9 (I think?).
Tony Kenworthy
Do any of you happen to know ‘roughly’ how tall these guys were?
Also... I’m not intending on adding (Gil Reece, Cec Coldwell, Ernest Needham, Mick Jones or Trevor Hockey) would this be a mistake?
Any help would be appreciated.
Anti-goalkeeper discrimination? Or are you counting Woodward...?Our 8 greatest ever players are
Ernest Needham
Billy Gillespie
Fred Tunstall
Jimmy Hagan
Joe Shaw
Tony Currie
Alan Woodward
Brian Deane

Not really, If I had to pick a best ever X1, it would be either Hodgy or Foulke in goal.Anti-goalkeeper discrimination? Or are you counting Woodward...?
If that's the case just put Captain Blade inHockey would be a good addition because of his unusual appearance if nothing else. Looked more like a pirate than a footballer!
Macallister was better than all of them in my opinion. Not really, If I had to pick a best ever X1, it would be either Hodgy or Foulke in goal.
Gough, "Smiler" Smith, Burgin, Tracey and Kelly are the other candidates
Mine was in the Windsor Hotel on the Wybourn, along with TC, no, not that one..... The other unfortunate git.Mine was at the Fiesta. Can’t remember if it was Bernard Manning or the Three Degrees. I always get them confused...

Yes, but they were helped by the change of offside rules in 1925 and many goalscoring records were brokenHarry Johnson?
Jimmy Dunne?
Both record holders in there own right
Not at all.Are you worried that the likes of Needham, Gillespie and Tunstall are not ideal for marketing reasons?
Agreed. They’ll get on there. They’ll all get on there.Yeah but if you go on recent popularity then you won't get much further than Duffy, Clarke, Fleck and Brooks et al thanks to bouncing day. Reckon a bit of respect is due to the proper legends.
Only a suggestion mind, it's your show!

Nick. You've nailed Dane Whitehouse's face. His hair needs some more work..Otherwise the perms I paid for, for (too) many years were wasted!. Looking forward to the end result. No pressure about who's in and who isn't..Just get it right..Jow Shaw and Whitehouse.
I also need to slightly amend the heights of a few, Browny and Gages face.
Deane and Agana are 6 foot plus... they’ll go on the next couple of rows. I might need to change a few of their places as I move forward... as Gage, Whitehouse and Bradshaw are all 5’10 so might need to make room for a few more shorties.
That is Brill, I know his time was short with us Matt and we have just been talking about him on here over the last 2 weeks but what about adding Mel Rees (RIP) sat in the center (6.18 feet).View attachment 40277 Right then.
