We've run out of Baki...

Good luck with ali cok in becoming champion directors

To be honest, I thought he seemed like a Wacky baki kind of bloke which I kinda liked, although just the smell of that stuff gives me headache. :)

If you’re going down the petrol station to get some more get me a kitkat. And a wispa. And a snickers. And some wotsits. And something crunchy but chocolatey. Like hobnobs but not hobnobs. And a little pork pie if they’ve got any.

Think you should get yourself on the dieting thread with all that crap.

Not sure exactly what he did, but he seems to have genuinely taken the club to heart and plenty of Blades who’ve met and dealt with him all have good things to say about him.

He’s the only face on Abdullahs side of things that seemed to be a proper football man and who “got” the fans. I’m probably over-egging his involvement dramatically, but if Abdullah does get 100%, Baki would have been a decent bloke to have in there. If nothing else, he’s accessible to supporters and knew what the mood was on stuff.

Wouldn't be shocked if we play them again pre season then. Club has mentioned it was trying to get a home game sorted and they've just elected their new board hence why he's leaving our board.

It isn’t them. Nearly 2000km out

I know who we are trying to get. I can't say anything as it's been given to me in good faith. It's not them but it is a huge club in Europe.

That didn't do Jim Phipps much good though, did it? ;)

Old Jim, bless him. His heart was certainly in the right place, but as affable as he was and as much as he also took the club to heart, he wasnt a football man until he got here and was at times quite naive, which seemingly led to him getting the old heave-ho. Baki is/was a football man long beforehe came here, knew the score and made big effort to understand and get involved with the fans and understand the Blades “culture” from day one. Same cant be said for anyone else on Abdullahs team, him included.

I’m coming across as Sel Baki’s fan club president on this thread, when really I have no idea what he did and never met him! I just know that he sincerely took to and cares about the club and fans, and he understands things from a supporter perspective. In these days of boardroom uncertainty, we could do with more like him, not less.

I've got nothing personal against The Big Prinz, Phippsy or Mr Baki. I've never met any of them. I am broadly against foreign ownership of English teams. The script is easy - I'm a football fan, I know a lot about [insert team name] history, although I've never been to [insert town name] before, now I have, I'll be a [insert team nickname] for all my days....

Baki had that script down perfectly. All of them have - Pompey, Blackburn, Hull, SWFC. Nothing personal. He claims to be Fenerbace, he's used us as a stepping stone to get his dream job there. Glad he's gone. Waiting for the next goon now...

Inter played at the Lane in 2007 vs Sheffield FC for the 150th anniversary. I bet Dave McCarthy still has their number; he was the big cheese at Sheffeld FC at the time. Pele was at the game if memory serves.

Anyone any idea what Baki actually did? I mean, when he was appointed 'Summant summat International Opportunities summat summat whatever' I asked what his terms and conditions were and what objectives had been set against his cost to the club (as even that was a bit 'unknown') All I got was pelters from the usual quarters (but no answers)

I get 'he cares for the club' and 'he cares for the fans'. I would do too if I was a previous hoolie (and there's no disputing that) catapulted into the employ of the well-placed for a club I'd barely even knew existed in what appeared to be a made-up job.

Nice responses with detail about his achievements please.

Selfie opportunities for wannabe hoolies.

Photos with Chris Steer or David Green in years gone by haven't carried the same weight on Football Hunting Grounds on FB.
