Hopefully good news!

Glass half empty view. Move still on but Club wants to get as much compo as possible.

I get why that would be good for the board, but why would CW sign a new contract if that were the case? Because of the increased compensation owed, it would mean he'd have less leverage for high wages etc. in the new job.

Great, unnecessary dig there. Nice one.
Your point is clearly bollocks then. If he was out of contract he could walk for sod all. He’s under contract, so he can’t. Same for players. So how contracts can mean ‘fuck all’ I’m not too sure. Even as a journo.

Didn't you understand the 'financial' part of my point then?

McCabe and Prince Abdullah agreed to fund Wilder's new deal along with a summer transfer budget.

I think that’s the key phrase. Is there really anyone who thinks a manager who gets a top ten finish with a bottom six budget doesn’t deserve a pay rise?

Please, the PC term is "wanker post".
Perhaps to help pass the summer, those who have put up wanker posts in the last 12 months could now put up apologies; it is clear that many of us didn't believe the OP, and that gets us into fake news territory. Humour is and should be a big part of the Forum, but hardly any of the wanker posts are funny...IMHO. I hope IMHO means what I think it does...

A xfer budget could be anything, could be 500k for all we know.

I WANT A WAR CHEST!

Still all speculation.

Could be a cynical move to get himself more money. Could equally be that he's been angling to get real board assurances that he'll have a budget set and room to improve the team this Summer and beyond, and this is the board's way of showing him they mean it.

It could even mean that in spite of the ownership fallout that both McCabe and the Prince really do care about the success of the club more than who gets to put their name behind it. That they don't want their problems to hurt the team. It could mean that whatever the outcome, they both intend to put money in.

Or it could mean absolutely nothing and be another journalist who's been paid to write 150 words on Sheffield United and this is all he could find.

On a scale of 1-10 how much of a lucky lad will CW be now?
Wonder if any of his mates had a few quid on him for Sunderland. Shorten the odds, get him better deal so he can get the beers in this year :)

Part of the reason I don’t post often. Too many of these wanker posts going round, and then when you do bring genuine news (which can find if they go and look) you get called out for it being fake or photoshopped. Not really worth the hassle.

Excellent news.
Hopefully it will mean the mackems look elsewhere for a new boss!!. Could this also mean that the board have come up with a compromise deal or something similar?. I do hope so. Up the blades

Well it looks like the ownership has been sorted out and that they’re just as ambitious as Wilder if he is about to sign a new contract. Good news all around then.

Contracts just guarantee the manager a pay off or the club a fee when he gets sacked/leaves. Glad he’s signing a new one, hope it’s based on the board giving him some assurances around their intentions. It’s deserved based on the fact that he overachieved last season.

Some are never happy Cum on Chris Wilder UTB

The ownership is a long way from being sorted out but it does look like they are both adult enough to reach a temporary agreement that is in both of their interests.
