Pledge.

Looked at threads from last year and on 2nd May there were several quoted figures up to 20k...

Fair do's. I seem to remember 2 phases of discount last season? One ending pre end of season, the other at the end of May? I thought we did 15k and then a further 3k 2nd phase, then 2k before the start of the season and then 2k half season tickets. That would give us 22k currently on season tickets, which seems about right. 26.766k average - (22k + 2k away fans) = 2.776k match day payers?

I pledge to be sat on what I now consider to be MY seat on the Kop for the start of the season no matter what happens pre season (unless Donald Trump has started World War Three in the meantime).

As someone who spent a few years away on the golf course until CW arrived, I obtained a season ticket last year in League 1 and this year in the Championship. I have just renewed not knowing who will be in charge. I pledge my loyalty to Sheffield United Football Club whoever is in charge, be that club in the premiership or the Dog & Duck League. If the club lie to me, cheat me, fail to put effort in such that I know they are failing to match my support, then I will vote with my feet as I did, and others have done, over the years and bide my time until someone I can trust and respect comes back in.

I like and respect Wilder as a man and a manager (notwithstanding that again this evening he has refused to accept me paying his bar bill. That's twice CW, you only get one more offer) and I trust him. I prefer the devil I know, rather than the devil I don't know with regard to ownership. I haven't seen any hint from Da Fresh Prince of Fuck All that he personally has the ackers, inclination or the interest to take us further than McCabe could. I would prefer CW rather than anyone I have observed recently to manage us notwithstanding his errors.

I don't see the need to make some dramatic flounce depending who is in charge without giving it a go. I hope it is McCabe with a new "partner" with cash. If not, then I will live with DFPOFA. If he proves to be a wanker, I will walk. If Wilder doesn't like it and walks I will still be there to see the alternative. If I don't like it I will walk. My priority and support is the team, then the club. It is not the personality of a manager. If it was I would be like "CloseasaBlade" on Bladesmad who was a Clough Family junkie.

Clubs and ownership of them change, as do managers. Fact of life. We'd all want CW to be there for perpetuity (unless he changes Stearman again like against Millwall) but these things happen. Lets just see how it pans out and hope CW pulls through with investment. (Ramble on :tumbleweed:

Season ticket sales at 12000 to date may be a touch disappointing.

The ownership dispute may be partly/ mostly the cause why some fans are leaving their options open.

Would fans welcome full ownership returning to McCabe or the prince taking full charge?

I'm not sure what the prince knows about football or more particularly football in S2, or about fans in S2. Nor am I sure McCabe wants to throw even more cash at the club. It may be 'Hobson's Choice' and the prince might think he is the popular option.

This is a special club and the culture of the club is maybe more important than many, if not most other clubs.

Chris Wilder epitomises our culture and is a proven successful and experienced manager. In my opinion whoever owns the club should secure his services for years to come. If he doesn't want recruitment of numbers of foreign players then that is how it is as far as I'm concerned.

As a season ticket holder I wish to make a pledge that if Wilder leaves the club due to differences of opinion with any owner on strategy, approach or budget, then immediately I cut my season ticket card in two and return it to the owner.

In these days of petitions for this that and everything, why don't we petition the half-owners to let them know our concerns and anxieties over their dispute.

Indeed the message is 'do not take control of the club without adequate financial resources to back our current manager' this summer. Back him with increased (not extreme) budgets and you are very welcome.

Let's back our Blade and manager!

If Wilder chooses to leave then so do I.

My favourite furniture polish.

I pledge my loyalty to the club, not to its owners, manager or players. They will come and go, whereas the club that I love will (hopefully) always be there, through good times and bad.

As for the OP, to quote the Proclaimers, ‘that’s not love, it’s just romance’.

I pledge to renew my season ticket!!
Oh hold on, I've already done that 2 weeks ago!!.
I might have second thoughts though if the prince hires Adkins as a replacement for wilder!!!. Lol

12,000 season tickets sold in April is impressive.

Do you think Wilder would want Utd to do shit and have fans leave in droves if he quit?

I don't want him to quit and the pledges (just me as yet!) would leave the prince in no doubt where we fans stand.

McCabe already knows.

...I didn’t ask whether you wanted him to quit. (We know that :))

Pre-emptive strike sorts the job.

No need to ask hypothetical questions.:)

Off to bed. Hope for a real show of unity and commitment by the morning.

By the way I do have form with this sort of thing. Travelled to Sheffield when Wilson was appointed to burn my ticket in the car park but McCabe and Morgan talked me out of it. They were wrong of course

Sorry but as much as I love Chris Wilder and everything he’s done, I’m a Sheffield United fan first and foremost, Chris Wilder second

This is the opportunity to show your solidarity with our manager. Dare you imagine who the prince will appoint when in control. Stand up for your beliefs and demonstrate your support, we can't just take it on the chin forever.

....perhaps McCabe will talk you out of it again...sweet dreams.

I take your point but I wouldn’t rip up my season ticket. If times are tough my team might just need my support more than ever
