For next season ..
Fleck .. it will really surprise me if no one comes in for him
Blackman ... He's a good keeper there will be interest
Brooks ... his from has not been the same since he has come back from illness , might be confidence , but you can see he is class , because of this , it might put the clubs who were after him off , One thing we don't want to do is let him go on the cheap because of this !!

It will take a very large bid to get Fleck.

Plus the lad seems settled with his family and enjoying his football.

I know he’s recently only signed a new deal, but I would be coming back to him with a nice little pay rise before whoever his agent is can start hinting at one!
Let’s him know how highly he’s regarded by the manager and club and rewards the effort and work he’s put in this season.

Get to it United

The background with the owners does not help the situation.

Even the manager cannot fully rest easy if/when McCabe ends his ownership.

Given that background each player has some doubts about the future of the club and even the manager.

Brooks and Fleck will trust Wilder but not if he loses his personal power base.

We need the ownership issue sorting very early summer at the latest or we are in no man's land.

We'll definitely get bids for Brooks and we'll get bids for Fleck too unless all PL clubs are stupid.

The argument for keeping Brooks should be clear - he's not peaked in value yet and we'd be throwing money away.

It'll be harder to keep Fleck if we do get bids. He's primed for a shot at PL football and his value is close to peaked.

Fleck and Brooks are the obvious ones who would go for big money, but seriously I would not rule out bids coming in for a number of our players.

JOC - hardly ever mentioned as MOTM or as standing out but he has been ever present and rarely puts foot wrong. Still young and with years ahead to improve. A defender who can play decent attacking stuff as well. We would probably get a very good fee for him.

Baldock - another young player who has stepped up effortlessly. Just the kind of marauding full back/wing back that is in fashion these days. As with JOC, we would command a good amount.

Sharp - a certain Mr Adkins might be interested?

Basham - solid as they come, energetic and quite versatile. Don't rule out one or 2 clubs seeing him as a very useful squad addition.

Duffy - age may be against him but he has proven to be one of the best creative players in the league this season. Incredibly talented, crafty and brave. As with Basham, a lot of clubs may see him as a cheapish and useful squad player, and certainly one who could bring that bit of x factor from the bench, for example.

Coutts - his pre injury form [and last season] will not have gone unnoticed. A classy player by any stretch of the imagination and despite his age one which many clubs would be happy to build a midfield around.

Lastly, if the rumours about Villa wanting Clarke where true then don't rule that out either, especially if he finishes on 20 goals which is now highly possible. 30+ or not, he is now a goalscorer in this league and has done infinitely better than other supposedly 'proven' ones such as Bent, Nugent, Murphy etc.

The big worry of course is that several clubs could offer any of the above a fairly substantial pay rise as well. More the reason to get upstairs sorted out ASAP and review contracts on those we want to keep. All of the above fall into that category for me.

Cannot see any of them moving on. I think it will be our choice regards Blackman. He’s a good keeper but he’s not top end premiership.

Fleck although is a great player there are better in this league. The Premiership is now ridiculous teams like Watford can attract world class players. Years ago Fleck would get a shot at Bournemouth but now they will go and sign some international for 15million.

I think you will find that it is Chelskis choice as regards Blackman

I think only Brooks will attract PL interest. Been inconsistent since his illness but flashes of brilliance at his best.

I would like us to sign Blackman but he won’t be cheap so unless we get new owners it probably won’t happen.

I'd worry about losing Fleck, O'Connell and Brooks to silly offers. If Lundstram, Coutts and Evans do well early next season we might see cheeky offers in January for them.

As said above, Basham is limited as a technical footballer but he's versatile and a good player to have.

The problem we'll have is that as players age we need to find decent replacements, Leon won't score 20 goals again next season and Billy might not even get 10 so we need to replace 30 goals without even losing these players from the squad, similar to Stearman over the next 2 seasons as his legs will go completely so hopefully Heneghan is decent and can be slowly introduced.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Jack O'Connell. Only 24 but looks at home in the Championship. I would imagine he can do this at a higher level.

Said this last season.

Not many left footed CBs, especially English ones. Arsenal paid £2.5m for Boltons Rob Holding a couple of years back...

The number of teams in the PL playing with a back 3, I'm amazed he's still here!

With the possible exception of Brooks. Can only see parachute payment rich clubs just relegated from Prem making bids. Any other Championship clubs shouldn’t waste their time.

I think Jack needs a Harry Maguire style fitness regime first and then maybe he could make the prem

Seems to have lost the confidence to overload the left wing like he used to

We will be fine ,however if they were called Blackmaninoff ,Fleckio ,Di Brookski and La la Oconnelll we might have a few issues.

I think Enda Stevens playing like a warm dog turd has limited Jack's forward adventures...

You're right though. Looks like Jack and Fleck follow the Billy Sharp diet so hopefully that means we get to keep them for at least another season!

What brilliant like Giralamo was, the kings clothes to some fans.

Some of these threads are a bit of a mystery to me, like we're consciously, and at times almost gleefully it seems, making efforts to advertise and sell our own players.

Realistically though yes, there may be some bids in the summer. That's when it's time to grow some balls and show some ambition.
So far this regime has shown it's different to previous ones on the pitch. It remains to be seen if it will be any different off the pitch. I have some hope but i'm not holding my breath.

Duffy - Maybe a Lg1 team would come in for him, doubt anyone else higher would, though.

Sharp - I doubt Sharp would play under Adkins after the shit he did here.

Coutts - Nobody and i mean nobody would take a punt on a player whos just come back from a broken leg.

Clarke - Lower end Championship side (based on his inconsistency, and chances missed since Christmas) maybe.

I don't think Managers go around forums of the team of any players they're interested to get fans perspective.. that's what clubs employ scouts for.

Absolutely, but it does seem to get focused on slightly too often, and with a certain strange tinge of pride, particularly when Wilder gets tenuously linked with Prem jobs.

Completely understandable though to be worried given our history. What i'm really hoping is that the club gives us cause to abandon our inbuilt sense of worry we've all experienced through years of being Blades.

We've gone 2 seasons without selling our best players.... and have made huge progress. Hopefully they've cottoned on.

Duffy - Hilarious.

Sharp - He will want to PLAY under someone. And play regularly. It would appear, increasingly, that this isn’t under Wilder.

Coutts - I would. I reckon plenty of others would too.

Clarke - Maybe!

I think you are being ridiculously harsh on Duffy there mate. He has been stunning this season [my player of the season] and had most of us wondering quite how he has not managed to crack this league in the past.

Take your point on Sharp I suppose, thinking back to his 'last season was an embarrassment' speech outside the team bus. However that wasn't all Adkins' fault, we did have some very poor players back then and seen as though the board flogged Murphy as soon as he walked through the door I am tempted to cut him a little slack. Nigel is also showing now that maybe he does know what he is doing, he has almost certainly kept Hull up and they were an absolute basket case when he took the job.

As for Coutts, a few clubs may monitor his progress at first but let's assume he comes back into form then the JTW could be interesting. He is too good not to attract interest at some point.
