Have you got a link to the interview?
Sounds a bit like Wilder saying “so I’ll stop pretending we have a chance of getting in the top six, I’ll stop wasting my energy on that because clearly tonight has shown we are not good enough“
I don’t think Warnock looked like a man who wasn’t interested that season. Wherever he has said now.
The soundbite was from yesterday morning when they were previewing the Championship with the big Cardiff- Wolves match coming up. Wasn’t much of an i interfiew as it only lasted 2 minutes.
From memory he said
Alan Brazil asked him about the Liverpool- Man City match and what he thought about the Man City bus being attacked.
Warnock said surely the police should have protected the Man City coach (bus) better when it was attacked by the Liverpool fans.
Said it’s happened to him once, his bus was attacked in a Yorkshire derby when he was player and said he thinks the attack would have affected the players.
Alan Brazil asked about the big Cardiff- Wolves match and if he thinks he can finish top of the league,
Warnock played it down, saying theres no pressure on his players and they’re a great bunch that have worked wonders for him. Said he’s looking forward to Fridays match with Wolves. He understands it’s a 30,000+ sell out, which will be the 1st time since he’s been manager. Also said promotion isn’t assured yet so still need to remain focussed.
Alan Brazil said he knows he enjoys the Championship so is it possible he’ll leave for another Championship club and not manage Cardiff in the PL.
Warnock replied that the thing he loves about the CC is that it’s so equal and competitive , said any team can beat any team and he admitted that they should have lost to us Easter Monday, said Sheff United are a good team and on the night were the better side.
However he said he would like the opportunity to manage in the PL, commented that he got sack with QPR but he was never in the bottom 3 and was never in the bottom 3 with Sheff Utd either until the final day. Mentioned when we got promoted SU took the option on his contract which made him lose interest. He also commented that he never received the necessary funds so still feels he can do a job in the PL.
That was about it, as I said not really an interview, just a very quick preview of Fridays Cardiff-Wolves game.
