Thread title changed. Worked last season

So after the solid performance, if in the end slightly disappointing result, we have a real test tonight against an excellent Cardiff side in superb form. I think they are on something like 8 consecutive wins, though many have only been by the odd goal. Not that, that matters, I wish we'd convert some of our performances into a win by the odd goal. Definitely going to be a hotly contested game, and passion will see one or the other come out on top... unless it's a draw of course lol

Anyway....

Any team news?

Obviously Blackman suspended...

Brooks still a better option from the bench?

Which striker has their shooting boots on tonight?

Likely unchanged other than Moore?

We haven't managed a victory over Cardiff at BDBL in the last 5 matches, and I can't really see that changing tonight. However if we play like we did at Brentford and have a bit of luck you never know. I predict a tight match with the Mighty Blades just edging a dull encounter 4-3

Enjoy

Kinloyseagean 1-3. Warnock cock crowing, site in meltdown and Desso ruined for the week. How's Duffy?

Won’t be there tonight so I reckon a win is on the cards for us, as is tradition when I miss the game :)

We will dominate, miss 5 guilt edge chances then lose in injury time to some quality strike.

We're quite clear favourites with the bookies! WTF?

Very very tough fixture, Warnock will revel in this tonight.

A win would rival Wolves as the finest home win of the season, but we will need to be back to our early season form to pull it off though.

Can't see anything other than a Warnock win and Clarke playing another 90 minutes without being subbed.

Same here. I am that lucky charm me. Sometime at around 5 am my time I expect the good news that my magic has worked again.:oops:

If we play the same midfield and attack as we did at Brentford we'll find it very hard to score.

Wow .......results have gone for us.
How much do we want a play off spot ? How noisy can we make it tonight ?

Cardiff are not a great footballing team and given that we have dominated most other sides in the league (save for Fulham who we had to play twice without our match controller), it is highly likely that we'll have most of the possession and territory against them tonight.

Cardiff are, however, arguably the most effective team in the division in the two penalty areas. They make a relatively small amount of the ball go a very long way. And, we are arguably amongst the least effective sides in the division in the penalty areas. Even in the early part of the season, our frequent dominance of matches was rarely reflected in thumping goal tallies and we all know the statistics about the very high ratio of goals we concede in the context of how few chances we limit the opposition to.

All of which points one way, but let's hope we're not reflecting on an infuriatingly frustrating evening later tonight where we've been done by a side that played no football but out-muscled us and capitalised on a couple of set-pieces. Especially as the other results have left the door ajar.

Lee Evans back in (for Leonard). Brooks starts, Sharp on bench. Duffy and Wilson still injured, not on the bench.

No Duffy, can’t be helped

No Sharp. Can’t understand that.

2 good chance already...Lundstram heads it like someone carrying a brain injury and Clarke's control akin to mine !!!

Playing really well so far & we should have had another goal, keep this up & we are looking good for a win.

Bullied em

That is all

Do it again second half

Please

Thank you

It was a bit of a poor game till the goal, but we’ve been excellent since then, epitomised by Clarke – he had a couple of v poor touches early on, got the luck with the goal, and has since been superb. His movement has been good and the turn and diagonal pass to put Stevens clear down the left was excellent. V good performance so far.
