At the start of the season I was watching us play without fear and almost naively go gung-ho at trying to break opponents down. It was great to watch and it felt like our players were making a statement that they are worthy of being at the top end of the Championship. This wasn't just a handful of games, we were playing great attacking football up until December.

Fast forward 3 months...now it feels a more cautious approach; overlapping centre backs are no longer being used as often as an attacking option, we don't commit as many players forward anymore and it feels like the players are showing too much respect to the opposition, which they weren't at the start of the season. Have our players lost belief or has Wilder tweaked the system to be more defensive?

If we carry on playing this cautious approach, we'll finish the season with a wimper. It's obvious we'll not reach the playoffs playing as we are...so why not lose the fear of losing games and get back to that naive gung-ho approach we had at the start of the season, we really have nothing to lose. It was so much more entertaining to watch, and if we miss out on the playoffs at least we can say we went for it, rather than try and sneak in with the 'battling performances'.

We need a win against one of the teams above us to get the confidence flowing again.

I can see us beating Boro but it might be too late by then.

I think Wilder blamed himself for the Bristol City game and has approached it a bit differently since then.

Yeah, I have to agree. Though I loved the attitude he showed by going for it against Bristol City, even though we were down to 10 men. I think most of us would prefer to see us get that attacking emphasis again for the remaining games of the season? Especially against the teams higher up in the table...show them no respect and go for it!

Yeah I think the Fulham game and then subsequent run pushed us to be a bit more conservative, which is fine. Always knew teams would begin to set up differently after the start we’ve had ‘target on our back’ to quote the great man. When your no longer a ‘winnable’ game, teams set up differently.

Our form has dipped due to poor decision making in the final third. Early in the season everything seemed to be second nature to the players. But now, for whatever reason, there’s this cautiousness creeping in and then the wrong ball being played or shots not been taken etc. etc. With better play from us and better finishing from Forest that game could have had several goals in it.

I know it was only Burton, but the 2 goals we scored, was exactly how we played early in the season.

Not sure what’s happened but the momentum (and confidence) is well and truly lost. Perhaps the pressure of pushing for the top 6 ? Perhaps the obvious tension in the crowd ?

Agree with that we have lost a lot of games and I think that has drawn a lot of confidence and beliefs from the players.
