Still relatively early days yet I know, but who does everyone think will be on their way out of the club post season?

This is my prediction (assuming we are still in the championship):

Released

Hussey
(a given)

Reed (although should offer a low wage contract to ensure we get compo. Done well at Chesterfield but we have more than enough competition in midfield now and can't see him breaking back in to our first team - let him develop his career elsewhere)

Long (as above)

Wright (would be a huge shame but considering he's not had a look in since Xmas and assuming we will be upgrading on what we have, he won't be anything more than a fringe player for us next season and deserves more than that. Would be a solid signing for any L1 team)

Transfer listed

Hanson
(Signed to get us over the line last season and was never expected to cut it at this level)

Lavery (Contributed well last season with a handful of goals, unlucky to suffer a bad injury early on this season and couldn't get back in due to the form of Clarke, Sharp etc at the time)

Carruthers (Again did a job when called upon last season, expected him to step up to the mark in the Champ but has been very underwhelming. Fully expecting him to be playing for Uncle Robbo again come August)

Lafferty (As above, did well last season despite arguably not getting the recognition he perhaps deserved. Stevens will definitely continue to be first choice over him next season and we can definitely upgrade on Lafferty to keep Stevens on his toes)

Certainly don't agree with releasing Reed. Even if we sell him we should be able to get a decent fee for him, plenty of league one teams would be interested in him.

Agree, but is he really going to accept a contract knowing we plan on selling him anyway? Offer him a 1 year deal on low wages with a decent appearance bonus. If he accepts it then great, if not then at least we put one on the table which entitles us to compensation for him

Reed's had his contract extended to 2019.

Based on the need to improve next season I would also transfer list:

Clarke or Sharp...we need pace and these two don't have it but we will need to keep one of them due to their experience. Personally I would keep Sharp as he is the better finisher

Donaldson- just not good enough

Ched- he has until the end of the season to prove himself. I would start him the next 3/4 games to give him a chance .

Basham- transfer list him. For all his effort and enthusiasm his passing is poor and he isn't good enough in either midfield or defence. If no offers come in he should be cover only

Duffy- lovely little player but he is going to be a bit part player. Brooks and Holmes will be above him

I would keep Lafferty as he is a good cover player and we will need the money elsewhere ( e.g. 3 new strikers)

Transfer listing almost the entire strike force - a bold decision!

Clarke, Sharp, Bash and Duffy? Give over. All have done brilliantly this season but you don't sell them just because we need to improve. You add to this group of players.

I think Fleck and O'Connell have outstayed their welcome and need to be moved on.

Duffy's 32 now so couldn't argue with a contract termination. We should look to sell Baldock too because he might not get any better.

Then we can focus on getting cover for Basham, Stevens, Lundstram and Sharp.

Both Clarke and Sharp will stay. Look at their respective returns, they're both proven goalscorers. What we'll need to do is add another option in the same way as we've loaned Wilson. Hopefully one with pace to burn. I don't know what the contract length on Donaldson is but maybe he'll be one to clear up space for better signings.

Other than that I think the OP covered the obvious ones. I wouldn't be surprised to see some offers come in for others and once again our biggest task will be retaining JOC and Fleck. Otherwise it comes down to what our budget is when the board disruption settles down.

I honestly don't think I've ever disagreed with so much in just one post.

Glad you've not even mentioned Brooks. Another flash in the pan.

Freeman? Meh.

We must keep Carruthers though.....

Plus all the lies he's told......

Billy should be made manager ASAP then he can never be dropped and his arch enemy Leon will never play again. We'll make automatic then.

All those bottles of peroni that he spines moneh on when he could have paid for 2 championship strikers and had enough loose change for a cheeky Rhodes bid

When I read the title of this thread I thought it was going to be about who stays and who goes to La Manga for warm weather training on Saturday night after our next two victories.........
