Ipswich have 52 points from 36 games. They are a long established Championship side. Can remember them in the Prem but not the third tier.

Wish we'd been that rubbish over the years!

No, it's not meltdown - It's all about having a team that can compete in the top 6, not the bottom 6.

Since November, which coincides with Coutts getting injured we have lost the ability in the final third of the pitch which was amply demonstrated by the game at Ipswich yesterday. Completely devoid of ideas and ability in and around their box. Crosses once again bar 1 in the 2nd half were abysmal.

There is not meltdown from some - some don't want to settle for mediocrity which is what we have. Even with this squad I expect out management team to be able to do much better against a rubbish team like Ipswich.

Aah. The old chestnut of settling for mediocrity. It's been a while........

Too right Sean, Wilder would never settle for mediocrity he would move on to pastures new if he felt the club would settle for that.He knows mediocrity would spell the end of his tenure and he would go before being pushed.
We are not mediocre Fulwood ! we .have a lot to build on if this season goes ttits up.
Wilder already stated he beleave he can acheave his goals with us, that means promotion !! and what. !! More. !
We need ambition at board level which is another factor as to whether he stays or goes .

What you probably did not see from the sofa was how wet and muddy the pitch was. Both Sharp and Ched slipped trying to control balls around the centre circle in the first few minutes. After that both sides seemed to decide to play as much as possible within 5 yards of the touchline.

Other than this excuse I thought we looked a tired team. It is always a bad sign when no one is available to receive throws ins and that happened repeatedly yesterday. When there was and we moved it quickly we looked a different team and a class above Ipswich

Blackman - 7
Basham - 7
Stearman - 6
O'Connell - 7.5
Baldock - 7
Lundstram - 8
Evans - 7
Fleck - 8.5
Stevens - 6.5
Evans - 7
Sharp - 7

Wilson - 5
Brooks - 6
Donaldson - 5

Wilder - 5
Jesus, what game did you watch?

Interesting point about throw ins. Duffy continually makes himself available for throw ins if you watch him closely in a game. When he's not in the side no-one seems to take this responsibility on.

Maybe, but none as stupid as that one.

I forgot you have an aversion to someone disagreeing with you though. Please forgive me your Lordship.

You see sean - it's all about not wanting mediocrity for some - quite happy for you and others to think differently.

Some of us want the club driven on - bit like CW keeps saying - he won't settle for mediocrity either. Think it's called being a winner not a loser.

All the best

I don't think differently. Unlike those who use the "settle for mediocrity" ( I'd love to see a quote where a poster has even suggested they'd be happy with that, it's a forum myth) cliche to distance themselves from other fans - in a rather smug way - should probably think more about the realities at the club than their own perceived superiority and knowledge.

Being realistic about our league position and our squad isn't settling for anything. The arrogance that we're miles better than "rubbish" Ipswich shows a lack of understanding who and where we are at the moment.

Imo we could & should be the playoffs . CW had a meltdown at Hull and seems unwilling to put creative players on like Brooks or goalscorer like Wilson until the last 15 .Duffy was out so whete was the creativity in the final 3rd honna come from. That team that started yesterday had nil nil written all over it .
We aren' go n down so ffs go for 6th or 5th .Why the conservative approach at Ipswich is baffling .We need goals to get in the play offs not more sideways passes around their box . Tram selection yesterday was bang wrong

I understand both points of view. Neither is right or wrong.

We get what we get as does the manager.

The manager should feel he is making very good progress towards his ambitions and ours.

He's a Blade. If he ever leaves through lack of ambition he will be dping it for his own sake but more importantly for SUFC.

That's what Blades do. We've done it for years and years, all of us.

If we fans ever leave it will be for our perceived love of the club, to achieve real change.

At present we are on an upward trajectory. We stuck with it through the downward ones didn't we!

These reports are the best regular debates we have.

Deadbat ignites the debates. I'd be happy with this thread being the whole forum.

Not many troublemongers on here ever. You need to have a proper intention to contribute on these threads.
