I bought my season ticket regardless of who we bought and sold.
But we also do it in the faith that the club will not sell the family silver.
Alright so Kyle and Kyle aren't the spine of the team, but in many ways they were the glimmer of light that I left a very empty Wembley when I saw the likes of Kyle, Kyle, Morgs and Killa flat out on the hallowed turf.
I never believed that the club has brought players through the academy just to sell them on at a profit, the club do it to bring the best we can to the club. I feel like its a kick in the teeth to the Super Draw members that pay their money to see it go into the academy. Do they get a slice of the Naughton Transfer back for their investment? Of course not. We do it because we support our club and want to see these youngsters in OUR team, not Everton's Tottenham, Villa etc.
The fact that these players are relatively in experienced is even more annoying, If we have to sell these players at 24,25,26 etc then fine, we do it as we feel that as a club we've had our chance to push forward, like we did with Jags. Jags could've been sold 2 or 3 years earlier, for less money but he stuck with us and wanted to stay with us to get to the PL with us. We improved his contract at least once and put in a buy out clause. Fair enough, gutted to see him go but accept it.
But the Kyles aren't on massive contracts that are crippling us. We surely can afford to keep them, they won't be the top earners will they? surely that will be the likes of Henderson, Morgs, Killa etc.
The players are both under contract, they're not costing the earth and theres a pretty good chance that the world economy and their form/ ability/ experience will also increase in the next year or so. So no we don't have to sell!
So every club is a selling club, but not every club is an underselling club! Even Man U held out for stupid money for diving bouy.
I'm completely peed off with the club for preparing to let Naughton go like this.
