Does anybody else in these forums feel as pi--ed off as much as me about the possible sale of Naughton to Everton? & the possible sale of Walker to Spurs, but loaned back for a season long-loan. Our club promised us faithful supporter's that we're not a selling club, but as soon as the premiership teams come sniffing around they negotiate to sell, sell, sell. Also it seems to be after the season ticket's have almost been snapped up, no refund back just grin & bare it & when the new shirts & merchandise gets bought.

I thought the sale and loan back had been ruled out?

Are you suggesting that if you had the chance you'd take back your Season Ticket for a refund because we've sold one or two players to Premiership Clubs???

If they do go (and I stress IF) then it's not because we're a "selling club" ... it's because a bigger club has come in and offered us a better deal than we can afford to turn down. It's the natural order of things that ALL Football Clubs have to endure. Simple as that. Are Man Utd a selling club now they've sold their best asset? Nope! Can we afford to turn down a possible £5 mil (or £10 mil if today's rumours are to be believed) for a couple of admitedly very promising youngsters, especially now the parachute payments have stopped? Nope!

I don't want us to lose either of the Kyle's, but if the transfer money it brings in allows us to increase Killa's wages enough to keep him or let's us buy and pay wages for a decent striker then it'll be a good deal for us.

I am not angry about the possibility of selling these 2 players. Yes I will be disappointed to see them go. However, are they essentially core players to the side? I don't think so. The spine of the team are the central players, Morgs, Killa, Monty, Howard etc.

If we could get £10m for 2 players who together have not played a whole season appearance then I see that as a good deal and what the academy was built for. It's not like we are having to sell our best players anymore to stay afloat, we are selling youngsters because the profit we make can help strengthen the club as a whole.

I bought my season ticket regardless of who we bought and sold.

But we also do it in the faith that the club will not sell the family silver.

Alright so Kyle and Kyle aren't the spine of the team, but in many ways they were the glimmer of light that I left a very empty Wembley when I saw the likes of Kyle, Kyle, Morgs and Killa flat out on the hallowed turf.

I never believed that the club has brought players through the academy just to sell them on at a profit, the club do it to bring the best we can to the club. I feel like its a kick in the teeth to the Super Draw members that pay their money to see it go into the academy. Do they get a slice of the Naughton Transfer back for their investment? Of course not. We do it because we support our club and want to see these youngsters in OUR team, not Everton's Tottenham, Villa etc.

The fact that these players are relatively in experienced is even more annoying, If we have to sell these players at 24,25,26 etc then fine, we do it as we feel that as a club we've had our chance to push forward, like we did with Jags. Jags could've been sold 2 or 3 years earlier, for less money but he stuck with us and wanted to stay with us to get to the PL with us. We improved his contract at least once and put in a buy out clause. Fair enough, gutted to see him go but accept it.

But the Kyles aren't on massive contracts that are crippling us. We surely can afford to keep them, they won't be the top earners will they? surely that will be the likes of Henderson, Morgs, Killa etc.

The players are both under contract, they're not costing the earth and theres a pretty good chance that the world economy and their form/ ability/ experience will also increase in the next year or so. So no we don't have to sell!

So every club is a selling club, but not every club is an underselling club! Even Man U held out for stupid money for diving bouy.

I'm completely peed off with the club for preparing to let Naughton go like this.

I hope you don't misquote my original mail, I didn't mean that all Blades fans would want to hand back their season tickets. I brought that up as an example, On radio Sheffield & in the Sheffield star saying that we're not a selling club anymore or that we don't need to sell. I agree with Swissblade with his assumption of the matter completely.

P.S. Killa is one of our highest paid players how long will we be able to keep him for. Remember Beattie sold because of his high wages & also Rob Hulse as well ( quoted in the Sheffield star by Kevin Blackwell later on in the year

As soon as anyone offer 100k and two match balls (mitre delta) they can have him

Sorry Swiss, I have no idea how old you are but I am a young(ish) 47 and we have always done this. I have no faith that we won't do this time and time again whilst we are where we are. I am trying to remember a time when we didn't sell a player when the big bid came in. Perhaps someone can remind me of an instance.

My point after all this waffle is why would you have faith that we won't sell when we always have?

Yep totally agree we have ALWAYS been a selling club & not always for a decent fee. I don't want to see both Kyle's go, but if we get good fees for a change lets just hope it gets used for strenghtening the team [after all we do need a decent keeper]

Jagielka when Wigan offered us our 'asking' price, only to be turned down and say we wanted another million

i dont really mind that the 2 kyles maybe going ,so long as the money is invested in the team, with quality players and not lower league players untried at this level, but i keep having an horrible feeling of bargain basement time here we come again.

I'll be pissed right off if they both go, no need for it. grrrrr!
I feel another letter to McCabe comin on.

when it comes to renewing my season ticket next year,i might try the sufc directors method of bullshit,i.e. promise to renew before the end of this season, followed by more promises then wait to see which of the crown jewels they sell off and what lower league shite they get replaced with, then tell the board shove yer season ticket sales and keep me dosh in my pocket like they do.
sorry to sound so cynical, but i am sick of hearing the same old crap from the board, and being reminded of wembly everyday at work.really tired of gettin shafted and even more fed up with applying the sudacrem cream

I would be VERY pissed off if they both go. I can understand the argument for selling one and having the other become our established right back, we'd pocket a tidy sum to be spent elsewhere and not lose a first team player. Win/win. But if both go that argument flies out of window.

I was very excited about this transfer window, especially with the names we've been linked to. The rumours have now turned from buying decent young talent to selling it!

Still, let's keep some perspective, nearly everything in the press is bullshit. I'll start to get angry when (if) it actually happens.

Just read in the paper that Spurs have offered 11mil for both Kyle's then loan us back Walker. Why can't this board do what Arsenal have done with Arsene Wenger & let him build a team round the experiance players & bring in the youth players. Now the youth players are getting better because of this. I know before everyone has a go we have to generate money to keep us afloat & not be in debt like our piggy neighbours, but I would love to see us back in the premier division again & on B.B.C. on sat night's. We won't do that if we keep selling our best players/assets, then replace them with £500,000 buys from Watford or any lower club.

11 million is great money for 2 players that have played less than 20 1st team games.. really dont want to loose these players but if they gonna go it would be good to get the right price for them. we will see if this money gets made for new players?????

What will everyone think if all the money doesn't go for recruiting new players.
suggestion's welcome?

True, but in all fairness we've not sold the three players speculated to leave (the three Ks)...

Ive heard the money is going to buy a club in the Timbuktoo PL.:D

Just said on SSN, that both Everton & Spurs have both gone in for the 2 players and have matching bids. Sounds like were playing Spurs at there own game. Game On!

if the kyles go

sorry to bring up tales from the dark side but, richard wood from that big club on the other side of town, appears to have fallen out of favour,i.e. lost the the skippers job and the spat with laws last season, would he not be worth a punt, seem to remember him giving commanding performences against us in the past.be something else to get up the pigs snouts,as their old players seem to prosper when they come to us

I wonder what message this sends to young players coming threw the academy who really just want to play for Sheffield United.

Try your hardest break in to the first team put on the famous red and white stripes play your heart out do well and get sold to the first premier club that comes.

I am sure it’s every junior blades dream to be sold to Everton or spurs
:D
