Why would he want to play for them in the Premier League next season, when he could play for us in the Premier League next season?

Exactly. It's not the time to pull the classic Blades move and shit all over ourselves. There's no excuse whatsoever. He's on a 4 year contract. He's happy here. If we're to sell him then we take our time, get plenty out of him on the pitch and then get a great deal for him. Nothing else is acceptable.

Why worry about this now? Nothing will happen until June at the very earliest so best enjoy watching Brooks for as long as he's at the club. With the club on a far more secure financial footing that it's been in a long, long time (assuming the ownership negotiations won't cause issues), there's no need to let Brooks go on the cheap. WRT his value - it is only as much as someone is willing to pay and if Utd wish to sell (which they may wish to do to allow the squad to be further improved) but Brooks' contract status and his form between now and the end of the season will all be key factors.

Any club can make an enquiry about any player. Whether this is fake news or an agent trying to engineer a move for him we will never know. Wilder has clearly said this morning thou that he hasn't heard anything.

If anything does happen it will be in the summer anyway and whether he leaves will most likely depend on the budget CW has

The gist of my question is, "Is he tied to the contract for 4 years or can he leave before that (with agreement from both clubs)?"
