Two divisions gap

The interesting thing about Wendy's position is that they have a pretty tricky run in:

Home
Derby
Villa
Ipswich
Bolton
Preston
Fulham
Reading
Norwich

Away
Millwall
Bristol City
Leeds
Sunderland
QPR
Hull
Wolves

Hmmmm....... they're quite capable of losing any or all of these, unless the Forest Fairy comes to their rescue.

I think we'll be both be in the same division, we'll be above them for at least 90 mins of the season. However all we will hear this summer is how they will finish above us, they'll smash us twice and we won't stand a chance IF they have a full strength squad. No one else has injuries or suspensions just them, so no one else is allowed to use it as an excuse.
Don’t forget we won’t get as many penalties next season.

I mean we’ve already had three this season.

Those are my predictions.. 16points. Takes them onto 50 points.. should be just about enough this season but touch and go.
Well for sure the next 4 games - Derby (H), Millwall (A), Villa (H), Bristol (A) look very much a nil point scenario. Might make it all a but tense for them. But they'll get a couple of 0-0's out of them I'm sure.

Very unlikely they will go down and we need a run like the start of the season to be in with a shout at the other end !

Only something very small I noticed but Wilder mentioned in a interview that Paul Coutts had been back to the training ground (on one leg) and Wilder mentioned that having him around was great for the other lads, also Coutts has been spotted several times in the crowd watching us play.... Over at Hillsborough, the big fancy star player Fernando still a no show at training and living it up in Argentina on InstaTwat.

Its only a small detail but Chris and Alan have got players literally with one leg missing (or at least broke) still turning up to training! I don't know how or what is happening behind the scenes at the lane but it just feels right.

We dont need to be in a different league to be better than "the massive" they are imploding infront of our eyes, we have Chris Wilder and Alan Knill creating something very special here. Week-in week-out we get to watch beautiful football and watch a group of players who genuinely give 100% for the shirt.

I hope what we have now will last for years to come, the next game cant come quick enough for me and its a great feeling.

Would I love the pigs to get relegated? Obviously, but, in reality we are already leagues apart.

Can't see them winning away at both Sunderland and Hull. Their record against sides below them in the table is poor. They have yet to beat any of them!

And yet (oddly), I could see them getting something from Bristol City and I don't think they'll lose at home to Preston.

I think their next 4 games are crucial. If they lose all 4 they will probably be at least a couple of points nearer the bottom three and the pressure is then ratcheted up for their subsequent games.

I don't think 50 points will be needed for survival this season. Probably more like 47, which obviously works in their favour.

But regardless of all that, I'm glad we are where we are and not where they are in the table!

Going by recent form the Forest that comes to their rescue is more likely to be of the Nottingham variety.

Unfortunately only United manage to get themselves relegated in these sort of situations.

I don't know. Wednesday did a pretty good job of imitating us in 1989-90. That was a relegation snatched from the jaws of safety.

What I find particularly pleasing is that both of our League One forwards have notched double figures.

For teams that are forecast to struggle, goalscoring is nearly always the main issue.

Yes, players hit peaks and troughs. But Billy on 10 and Leon on 15 with 15 still to go is excellent. Plus we now have a run of games where you can see both fancying their chances.

Comtrast to Wednesday and Hooper is on his own on 10 with his 8m and 40k per week cohorts nowhere to be seen.

What was the phrase? Simply Loveleh?

You can’t see them losing at home to Preston? I can. One of the best away records in the league and fighting for playoffs.

That's true. And there's too much shit at the bottom of the Championship to keep Wendy up.

Personally, I hope Wendy finish above the bottom three. Radio Sheffield can sponsor an open-top bus parade to the Town Hall with 500,000 'fans' lining the streets. The Stir can print a special edition - on blue paper, natch - with 'We're on our way back to the Premiership!' as the headline and we can look forward to a summer-long shit-fest from them about 'Wait until next season when all our injured players are back.' 'Next season, Wilder will get found out.' 'Wilder will leave.'

And then - quite rightly - they'll be found to have broken FFP rules and are guilty of money-laundering. 20 point deduction. Applicable from next season.

Get DOWN!

I can see them shutting up shop and fighting out a dour 0-0 win, like they did at home to Cardiff and Bristol City.

would be nice but don't think it will happen!

Hope springs eternal.....never, ever, succumb to the thought that it's unlikely to happen. Stranger things have caused grey clouds to fade as the sunlight shines through, and should the mediocrity that is the mob from S6, that masquerades as a football club, find they're facing the inevitable slump, then it couldn't have happened to a more deserving bunch of misfits.

wednesday have lets not forget already found a way to get relegated to div 3 twice in the last 15 years

looking at their fixtures them getting another 15 points looks far away

I don't think they are going to need another 15 points. This season (unless there is a remarkable upturn in form of several clubs at the bottom end of the table) I think 46 or 47 points will be enough to stay up.

well 4 of those under wednesday are in the top half of the last 8 game form table
safety might be anything from 47 to 53
personally think wednesday will struggle to get to 46 the form they are in
not creating anywhere near enough chances per game
in league games this year their effort at our place was double the best chances made in any other game so far , and that wasnt good enough

Forest are only just above Wednesday and are currently bottom of the form table. They will probably drop below them even if Wednesday's form doesn't pick up.

Burton and Reading are also in worse form than Wednesday, and Sunderland and Barnsley have only picked up the same number of points as them in the last 8 games.

Whether or not Wednesday get to 46 points may well depend on whether or not they get players like Hooper and Bannan back any time soon.

Their next 4 games look difficult. If they lose all of them or only pick up the odd point, then the pressure will really be on.

As said already, luck will favour them somehow, somewhere to give them just enough points to stay up. For all their crapness they always have had an annoying habit of scoring from very few chances. We seem to do the opposite.

Either way though I still think they will struggle again next season. Things are just rotten over there and that isn't fixed quickly.

forest do create chances, but 3 go down and on form wednesday are making a strong case for consideration
