Prince is taking over

Don't be so sure he was imminently ready for out... note the wording of the "option exercised".

Quite. And more worrying, I’d suggest, is the wording “served a notice” exercising the option. Has Kev been manoeuvred out unwillingly ?

So McCabe doesn’t want out but the Price has activated the option put in place?

I certainly believe it's more complicated than the statement. However, the statement is a statement.

You'll see why I didn't respond to calls to expand further on my hints in the other threads.
Yep, not good news in my opinion.

I want to understand, but I can’t.

There's not enough information available as yet to fully understand owt. Pretty clear from Foxy's musings that there's a lot more to it than meets the eye.

It's basically a statement saying 'summets happening'. We knew this days ago, of course...

I'm pinning my hopes that the Prince is wanting to invest serious money (if he does buy out the other 50% of course), otherwise surely McCabe wouldn't sell his half to him if he knows the Prince isn't serious? That's all I can cling onto anyway for now.

Do the stadium plans submitted to the Council include a torture dungeon ?

Sorry. I REALLY do not want our club owned from thousands of miles away by someone whose grasp of football in Britain can only be tenuous at best, and for whom we are likely to be little more than a vanity project or bauble. Hilarious when it’s happening in S6. Not remotely funny when it’s happening to us. And I don’t care about how fucking rich he is.

If McCabe isn't involved in some way, even if it isn't financially then it'll be sad, in an end of an era kind of way, like when the Lavers left the board recently.

Prince has said things in the past that make him seem like he knows what he's on about, and maybe his mates will all chuck a tenner in now that he's going to be in sole charge.

As long as Wilder is alright with it then it'll probably be reyt.

No it doesn't. It means the option was in the original agreement . HRH just had to action it.

This.

You aren't the only one.

Someone please tell me what could possibly be good about this ?

Are you saying mate that you don't trust the Prince? I think that as McCabe has known and worked with the Prince for several years now that McCabe wouldn't sell to him unless he was assured he was the right man. This could be the investment we need if the Prince has sole control. That's the optimist in me anyway. I would rather McCabe still have a presence but I don't see this as necessarily a bad thing. As I say, its not like McCabe doesn't know the Prince.

Fair play to the club for the statement too. We can't say that the club hasn't kept us informed.

Does anyone think Chris Wilder would have been appointed manager if only the Prince had been owner ?
Just look at lower Barnsley to see what single foreign ownership can bring.

True, however, Jose wouldn't have been appointed Chelsea's boss without single foreign ownership

How many games does he attend ? Didn't he just drop interest before very easily for a nothing job in Saudi ? Has he ever heard of Broomhill ,Broomhall ,Woodseats or Arbourthorne ,will he care , I really fear for my club going down a road I hoped we would never see.

Cannot see why HRH would contemplate buying McCabes 50% unless he can see a method of making money out of his purchase and the only way to do this is to fund getting us into the premiership.
As previous posters have alluded to McCabe gave him the option and must at that time have been happy with the terms. It is obvious that they could not work together and subsequently something had to give

Double edged is this. Could be the best thing that has happened or the opposite. Time will tell. It is an option that is being exercised, I dare say though that the Prince will have to fulfill Kevin's price value. I'd like to think that the Saudis love tradition and will stick with the heritage we have laid over 125 years. Sheffield being the home of football, we being the first United. The badge could have been designed by a Saudi with the crossed scimitars. That just leaves the ground. Again it's one of the oldest professional grounds if not the oldest. So if they decide to spend the dosh, that just leaves the team. Could be interesting. If it goes the wrong way the cocks that have been criticising Kevin day in day out will be praying for him to come back. Exciting times! :)

Change always brings uncertainty but let's be honest here, we aren't talking about a huge change as the Prince has been on board over 4 years now and it would appear is a fairly cautious chap when it comes to business. He won't rip up a successful template any time soon.
