How much would he cost to buy? Do Liverpool see any future for him there?

It's always worth investing in a quality keeper.

This report seems to have come from Blades Mad.

I don’t know if United have sounded out the player and spoken to Liverpool. The process starts with United contacting the EFL to ask permission for an emergency 7 day loan (that can be extended every 7 days).

The clause says you have to have no professional keepers available. Obviously Moore is suspended but you have to have medical reports on the others. Do they now know Blackman won’t recover from his groin injury ? Does Eastwood not count as a professional keeper? He’s signed a professional contract as far as I know.

I’m confused but Chris will no doubt clarify in his press interview tomorrow.

The clause does seem harsh in that just one fit keeper means an Academy keeper must go on the bench and theoretically they could play if whoever starts gets injured. But it does say no professional keepers available.

Keepers count as a professional if they've made 5 appearances in the first team within a certain period of time.

Also Blackman has been really active on Instagram, looks perfectly fit to me...

Also this..

Interestingly, the comments suggest Liverpool fans would rather send us Mignolet. No thanks :D

I wonder whether this was what wilder was winking about at the Kev chat when he said he was more interested in what happened tomorrow...

Don't think there's much of an argument there

I reckon he will put in a few solid performances and the usual noises of gerrim signed up and no ambition when he goes back. Think the rules state the loan can only cover the duration of Injury/suspension whichever is shortest. have a feeling Blackman won't be rushed back to full fitness.

They told Huddersfield he wasn't for sale. But I suspect things will be much different next summer. think this was the make or break season for him at Anfield

If he leaves Liverpool I'd imagine they'd want at least £5m. He'll sign for a lower end Premiership side or a top end Championship side with a lot more money than us.

Can't happen. Jake is fit, so emergency loan not permitted. Shame, would be a good option

Seems odd that they'd consider bending the rules because our first choice keeper decided to get himself sent off.

Bending what rules ? Suspensions are included as a reason why you might need an emergency goalkeeper. Who else would you play in goal Carruthers ?

How do we pronounce his name is it Ward like hospital ward or Ward like Wards best bitter?!

While it does cover suspensions it looks like we can't get one in if I am interpreting this extract correctly from the EFL rules at https://www.efl.com/-more/governance/efl-rules--regulations/section-6---players/ (my italics)

55 Emergency Goalkeeper Loan

55.1 If all the Professional Goalkeepers at a Club are unavailable as a result of having been:

55.1.1 certified by an independent medical practitioner as being unfit to play;

55.1.2 suspended; or

55.1.3 called up to play for his national association representative matches in accordance with the requirements of FIFA as laid down from time to time, a Club may register (either before or after the deadlines laid down in Regulation 41.6 and 41.7), a further goalkeeper on a short term basis
