Don’t see why people buy their tickets on kop if they don’t want to be vocal. The lack of people on the kop wanting to sing could go to a ‘less quiet’ area so there is room for Ricky to have his singing section
There's been room for thousands more on the Kop for years now. If it hadn't been for boring oldies like us, it would have been deserted. I can still make a lot of noise, and do, but I don't fancy standing up for 90 minutes with nothing to lean on. And if I stand up (I am tall, if not handsome), the youngsters and smaller adults behind me can't see (the steps are not deep enough). So is it ok with you if I shout (loudly), sing (badly), but spend most of the time sitting down?

Uurrh. Have you heard Ricky sing? It's like jilted John.

Are any of you boring fuckers gonna actually stand up during the game at the bottom and create a decent atmosphere tomorrow night? If so then the atmosphere will be electric, it’s shit when you leave it to the 200 at the back

How to motivate your Blade brethren, call them boring fuckers.

We're a special breed us Blades :D

Surprised anyone has ever had time to fight the Wendy's what with endless opportunities to scrap with each other

We're on the march with Wilder's army, we're not going to Wemberlee, andwdgvafckcsthebldsrgwnupnunitedardagratstftbltm.........

I want to hear that at least 34 times. And remember kids, the faster the better.

But F and G boys, don't EVER join in with anybody else. Fuck Gangway E, D and whoever else. They're not proper Blades like you. Remember, it's about YOU, not supporting the team and making it as loud as possible.

Joking aside, the O/P has a point and I was driving at similar with my thread. If the Kop can't all get up for it tomorrow then God help us. It'll just be more proof that some sort of organised section is required.

The atmosphere at Ipswich last Saturday was absolutely fantastic. I don’t understand why 1,200 blades are up for singing in a reserve game but less than 20% of that can’t be arsed for a single home game

It's those nerves you see.... easy to sing in a nothing game.

It did sound good at Ipswich, and they went through almost every song too. Get them in the same area at home games and we could be onto something, but they're scattered all over the place. The BLUT is staring us in the face as an opportunity to get a lot in the same area. It could be like an away game in our own stadium. But for whatever reason too many seem unwilling to move from the Kop.

Share your weed with the boring fuckers n get them in the mood then.

Ant there's the problem. Should be on the baking powder all the little away divs think is coke if you really want to think you're having a good time.

Since 1991, I've never been to a derby at the lane which wasn't loud.

Perhaps save your appeal for Preston in the FA Cup

I will be at the back of the kop, singing, and making as much noise as I can.

No doubt I will find out that we weren't in fact loud enough from people who sit in the louder areas of the ground...

For me, those of you who think the back of the kop is getting quiet can either join us to help, or fuck off.:)

I have to say the atmosphere on threads like this is fucking boring, not like in my day. Us older fans can't group together and agree about anything and the younger Palace, sorry Blades fans are getting repetitive about this. We're a broad church, United, our players, the Pigs, dogs cats fish homosexuality and Hitler were the topics in our day. Refreshing and funny. You never get anything but "our support is crap" these days.

No one ever seems to complain about G&H block in the SS.......Perhaps Tom can nip there one game and tell them how boring they are.

Which (presumably loud) area of the ground do you sit?

The big question though is who do we give credit to or blame if the kop isn't loud?

TomSUFC25 has made what can only be described as a half arsed attempt to generate a better volume with some suggestions, perhaps so he can say that he did his best, not my fault guv if the atmosphere is only 90Db

However, Tom could've done more, we've had 6 years to prepare for this, so lets look at both aspects.

Standing
Frankly i'm annoyed that i've not been given a training plan to stand, i expected that in the summer i would receive a "seat 2 stand" app on my phone where i could train myself to stand for 10 mins, then 20, 30 etc. I reckon i'd be good for 70 mins, so its good i'm not coming tonight.

Being Loud
Again, my throat isn't ready for it. At villa i managed to hold my own, but in a cauldron of a derby match then i think i'd need to train more. I wish we'd perhaps had Leeds at home to get noisier as even Sunderland wasn't the best training.

I just hope that everyone else has motivated themselves better and are match fit for this one.

If i'd been in charge of this project, we'd definitely been better prepared.

I'll blame TomSUFC25 if i am able to listen to iFollow coverage at max volume on my laptop tonight without my ears bleeding.
