positive....in the main...been after that " free hit " loan signing ..not sure its all what we were after. Wilson out for 12months with a cruciate ...but hey ho ..free hit ....Leonard a solid steady signing ..Evans had a bit of class .....ideal world he takes over from Duffy and adds a few goals / assists ...

But all in all ..if we can move Lavery and Lafferty and Carruthers on ..a decent transfer window

UTB

One more coming according to Foxy

As long as we don’t sell anyone crucial (Fleck, Duffy) it’s already been a very good window.

I presume we need to bring in another attacking midfielder. We're reliant on Carruthers off the bench at the moment and he's nowhere near good enough.

I think Samir is go8ng to be on his way.
Not raised his game as expected, and had chances to impress. So far he hasn’t.

Evans Is the attacking midfielder..and Brooks to add to that ..one of them will force Duffy out of the starting Eleven.....

Not so sure about that, mate?

Not that I know too much about him if I'm honest. But just going by his interview earlier on he seems to be either a Coutts-type playmaker or a box-to-box type.

As regards the interview, he comes across great IMO. Love the buying into the "we" right from the word go. And, just as much, love his confidence in his own ability & willingness to bide his time for his chance to come. (Can't say I was as impressed with Wilson's interview - but, he's young, he's coming from a [genuinely] big club, he's wanting to use the opportunity. Seems more "contractual". But let's see how it goes.)

He's not a in front of back four playmaker ala Coutts at all ....he's an attacking midfielder ...always looked Bradfords best player ...not saying he is going to set the world alight ...but he is better than Duffy ....‍♂️

He's better than Mark Duffy, wow that's some claim, seems like we have got a right steal on our hands if that's the case

Not really ..there is half a dozen league 1 attacking midfielders better then Duffy ...he just benefited from Coutts and Fleck being outstanding....but yes Evans on his day is far better than Duffy .....saying all that ..I still hope Brooks may find a role in the Teaneck instead of Duffy ....

Never have I seen a more apt avatar Bonster. Cap doffed.

Sorry,cannot take you serious

Only player I've seen this year better than Duffys best game (Hull imo) was Cairney.

Duffy can't do it every week or for 90 mins though so I think there are plenty of minutes to go around. We need 270 mins out of our CM each week. I'd say Fleck has 90 and Duffy has 60. That leaves Leonard, Evans and Lundstram to fight over the other 120

I don't think Brooks can be a CM, even in Duffys role

Woods was good for brentford. A short playmaker, dictating the pace of play for a London team. A metro-gnome if you will.

I listened to all of three interviews. Leonard and Evans talk about how they were desperate to sign and that Wilder was key, in other words they want to be part of this football club and what Wilder is building. You can see the excitement in them when they talk about playing for us. Very good to see.

Wilson, yeah he's different. He's talking of kickstarting his career and seeing where he was and the players he was playing alongside when he made his debut at Man U, you can see there is (currently) a different focus. However, he's also spoken about the way we play being best for him, compared to the other offers on the table. He and Man U saw SUFC as the best place for him to get going again.

I think that if the loan goes well, you'll see a different approach from Wilson in future interviews.

One thing is for sure, even for Wilson, the first game they'll be attending will be a full house under the lights. The lane is a tight ground, in terms of seating we pack a lot into a small space, compared to the spacious Villa Park for example, it gives a very different character to the ground.

Get any of these three on the pitch on Friday, amongst this group of players, with the passion of Wilder, they won't have seen or heard or been involved with anything like this before.

Welcome to United boys! Best decision you've made in your careers so far.

Just saying in another topic that I'm a bit underwhelmed by the signings and we haven't shown much ambition as of yet; we haven't brought in anyone that's made me enthuse. Wilder has the team punching above their weight and if we can get the new players doing the same then I'd be relatively happy. Who knows what's going to happen?

Again I think we are having a decent transfer window ....all signings solid ..f unspectacular...but all look and sound like they are happy to b here ......CCV going was an easy decision ....for me ...(and I don't think we will make play offs ) ..we have a chance this season of top 6 ...and if we got a bundle of cash and a good sell option for Brooks I would cash in ...but due to not much game time recently I can't see a big offer for him ...and invest in 2 quality loan. Signings ...maybe one is Brooks back on loan ? .....this year has been outstanding..far above our expectations ( in style as well as points) ..and I would chance a few big wages ( short term ) in loans ...even foreigners...to go for it ....as things will get harder next year ...in terms of play off opportunities

Ps...in terms of Duffys dad who adores his every move ( if not lack of goals and chances created ! ) ...I like Duffy ..he's done a job ...but times change ...his return for our creative spark simply doesn't add up ....and I realise our budget ...I seriously do ...Coutts and Fleck and Clarke made Duffy useful ...but things move on....and an aside to the guy who suggests I a must a Wendy ..I have been going to Lane all my life ..played at a high level ..have my coaching badges and understand the game ..in terms of results ...my three favourite Blades ..( due to team effect on RESULTS ) have been Morgs Monty and Deano....football is all about opinions so I respect people liking Duffy ..I can see why ...but it's a results business and his stats don't add up now with the afore mentioned carrying him along ....saying that he I still in folklore as was Bobby Davison and Bob Booker ...but let's move on ..and I think the signings have put pressure al over ..and I would love to eat humble pie and see Duffy in the side and producing ...as he did when Brooks appeared ......basically if Duffy still in side in a months time we will still be in top six as Evans and Holmes are both ( technically ) better players ....pps..I am an avid blade so if you love Duffs then great ...but pleas don't call me a Wendy ..just because you like one player ...

If I wanted to read stream of consciousness style prose I'd buy Ulysses by James Joyce.
