If he doesn't get a sniff on Friday night?

I mean truth be said, if it wasn't for Billy's heroics last season...We wouldn't be where we are now would we!

I remember the interview when we achieved promotion, one part in particular in which he said he couldn't wait to have a pop at Wendy. Obviously he wasn't able to do this in the first fixture through what was described as an injury, but now he has a chance of missing out again through recent form and falling down the pecking order a bit in recent weeks.

To an extent I do feel for Billy because he has come back to the club that he loves and despite being shit on from a great height in the past, he came back with a hidden agenda and delivered the goods.

You have to start any game with your strongest XI at the time I totally get that. But I would expect to see Billy make a cameo at some point in the game. He's had his fair share of grief from grunters in the past and has as much to prove them them as anyone else, if not a great deal more.

How do you approach this? Any room for sentiment?

No room for sentiment pal, I hope he gets on at the end to pot the 6th, but we need to be going with the inform lads, best team available.
Great ambassador for the club, just seems to av struggled this year for whatever reason??

Appreciate the man, but hes's not playing well. Just because he's a blade shouldn't give him a place

Which other striker gets in ahead of him for the bench minimum?

I would feel for him personally but that doesn't mean I would start him ahead of Donaldson, who rightly has the shirt at the moment.

Confident he will feature late in the game though, we are still short of attacking options assuming Brooks is still out. Also confident that if he gets just 1 chance against them he will put it away.

Makes complete sense to start him on Friday & I hope Chris does.

Nothing to do with sentiment, all about having full confidence that he'll perform when it matters.

I'm sure he'll be chirping in Wilder's ear all week with regards to starting Friday.

Problem with Billy, is when he tries to hard, that's when his game seems to fall apart.

Leon & Big Don is our best strikeforce from the players we have at our disposal.

I will feel for Billy if he doesn't get a look-in, but no player is bigger than the club. The win is paramount.

If love to see him score the winner on Friday

Would feel like scoring it myself ,but if he starts friday id be worried he'd be as anonymous as he has for the last few games he's played in

To paraphrase our manager, "I'm loyal but not sentimental".

The gap between seasons can be monumental, so whatever Bill achieved last term won't impact on the decisions the manager makes this season. Assuming that Bill is on the bench, there are so many variables that will affect Wilder's decision regarding who comes on and when. As things stand, it might be a case of strengthening the midfield or defence, and if this is at the cost of bringing on another forward then so be it. From a romantic point of view it would be lovely for Billy to come on with 15 minutes to go and score a couple of goals, but we all know that the romance of football is generally a rare occurrence, so let's see how things pan out, uh?

Most importantly, and I know Billy would agree with this, we beat the pigs. We do the double, we confirm that we're far and away the best team in Sheffield, and that, for all their delusional bravado, they know to the pit of their stomachs that they've slipped far behind us. They have no leadership, they have no idea how to achieve sustained success, and they have an owner who is clueless about football yet Chansiri has the bottom-line where the purchasing of a player is concerned. Lunacy! Long may this continue. UTMB

Only as much as I feel for me not playing in this.

What did Wilder say?
He's loyal but not sentimental?
Right now Sharp doesn't get in our starting 11 for me, but if I could choose anyone to score the winner/4th in front of the kop it would be Billy.

Think he will perhaps cone on near the end, but can't see him starting
