You can't start leonard in a game like this, its a risk both to him and our team. Our players need to get used to him in training and if he were to make a mistake in the derby (gives away a pen etc) then it would be such a sour start to his career. Leave him on the bench to appreciate the occasion then bring him on if needs be. Has to be fleck - lumdstram - duffy in there for me

You obviously have never heard of the "Bobby Davison" effect....?

Leonard I doubt will start but will most likely be on the bench, I wouldn't risk playing him. I can see Bash starting in midfield for that extra man to press hard like in the away fixture although maybe we will take a different approach seeing as we are the home team. Duffy has to start I reckon his will be the drifter like Brooks was in the away tie.

If Duffy plays the No10 role just behind Clarke that Brooks played so well at the Sty it would mean we could play a midfield 3 of Leonard, Fleck & Lunny.......very strong that.....!

Unless anyone else signs that CW wants to chuck straight in what about a starting 11 of;

Moore

Baldock, Bash, Stearman, JOC, Enda
Lunny
Leonard, Fleck
Duffy
Clarke

I would think he will go with Clarke/Donaldson up front

Well for the away fixture we actually went with a midfielded three of Basham Coutts and Fleck with Brooks drifting so I wouldn’t discount both Lundstram and Leonard starting alongside Fleck.

Like it but we’re at home and think it’s a cert we’ll go with two up top :)

Donaldson running inbehind Loovens excites me.

He probably will but we won the game at the Sty by overwhelming them in the middle of the park and a middle 3 of Fleck, Lunny & LenDog looks very strong to me with Duffs floating about in front linking up with Clarke.

I’m going to try and offer balance here. Lundstram hasn’t been as good as some are making out, he can go to sleep and make stupid mistakes. He had a shocking 20 minute spell against Sunderland. Nearly gave the ball away on the edge of our box against Bolton before unleashing a class through ball for Clarke who was just off... Jekyll and Hyde.

But, in fairness to him in our last 4 games he’s only had 1 bad game and that’s one in which everyone played poorly. He doesn’t deserve dropping and deserves to keep his place on merit. The record post Coutts isn’t just down to him, everyone has needed to up their game and they simply haven’t. Lundstram shouldn’t be the fall guy for that.

3 pages and a not a whisper of beastiality. Standards are slipping.

Since Lundstram has been our best player since he broke into the team, did the question really need asking? The second best player at dictating a game at the club, and maybe in the whole league (after Coutts of course). His long range passing is also by far the best at the club and has already created a number of goal scoring chances. If we had more pace this would be more effective.
Over the past few weeks your correct Lundstram has out performed him.
Cause flecks been banned ?????

I think Lundstrum will start in Midfield with Fleck. I can see Leonard playing though at right wing back. It was interesting that despite playing a lot of games lately and despite Wilders assertion that he needed to protect Baldock from over exertion, he played in the Cup. Perhaps he is considering Leonards greater height in case they drift that big lump Nuhiu out to our fullbacks.

I guess it will be down to how well Leonard shapes up in training this week. But it will be challenging adapting from League 1 to Championship football and being thrown into a Sheffield derby would be a big ask. It's refreshing that CW relishes having to make these tough decisions of not who may be able to do the job but of who can do the job the best.
