Has anyone received their tickets for this yet. I bought a couple for a non season ticket holder before christmas and still not delivered.

It’s not an absurd decision at all, by the way. It’s as effective a way as any of trying to ensure that the ground is packed with Blades rather than pig interlopers. I obtained two tickets for Blades in the BLUT myself. Anyone who used his/her season ticket to assist a Pig is a NBW.

As ever, our club can’t win whatever they do.

Disagree Pinchy, what about us who don't have any season ticket friends who have to wait for general sale when we are registered with more than enough loyalty points? I could have asked on the forum for a stranger I've never met before to help me out but I didn't really want to put anyone out. Also, why should I have to do that? Why should I have to go round with a begging bowl to get a ticket? Being registered for a year with enough loyalty points would have been enough in my opinion.

Also, as has been said earlier there's a lots of season ticket holders with Wednesday friends, the ground could have a few in.

on the subject of aliens in football grounds, a good friend and benefactor of mine told me he was in the ticket office at BDTBL when he overheard a couple or so Poles trying to buy tickets for one of the matches last season.

the game wasn't a sell out but the lads were refused because there was no record of them on the club's database, I think some common sense ought to be exercised, possibly by the ticket office manager - the likelyhood of Polish lads with heavy East European accents causing trouble because of some Northen English squabble in the stands being very close to zero.

I must say, when I saw the news of the bloke who owned a fishing pond who tried to ban Poles from fishing there, I remembered the story of these excluded football fans. Not quite the same (criminal) level of discrimination but not far behind?

They were taking the fish home to eat, rather than returning them to the water, hence the (illegal) ban.

How do you know that the Poles in the ticket office weren't planning to raid the fish tank in the Director's Lounge?

I thought they were carp poles he was on about and the Daily Mail got it wrong again?

You could have bought a membership card anytime up to December and so long as you had more than 500 points you could have had your pick of tickets. If you have been to five games or more this season then it pays for itself. How many games you been to this season?

Got enough points and a card mate. They were only on sale to people like me for the 18th and 19th of December though. I missed that, my fault obviously, but after that it was season ticket holders only.

Anyhow sorted now and all is good with the world.

Did they stop selling them after the 19th to people with a membership and that (low) amount of points?

Also I think there is a misunderstanding that the 'window' for members buying was only two days - once the season ticket holders could start buying it didn't stop members buying as well.

Presumably any season ticket holders buying online had to give the details of the person they were buying for as per any normal home game?

Nope.

I bought one for a well known member on here but I wasn't asked for any details at all.

The ticket duly arrived in the post with my name printed on it.

I rang last night and the lad in the office said it was season tickets only

No - members could continue to buy - I bought my ticket on 27th and am a member with a (low) amount of loyalty points

Also, memberships were still available for sale online as well - Mate of mine with previous buying history and (low) amount of loyalty points bought his on 30th precisely so he could buy a ticket for the derby before they went on general sale.

Got a ticket for the game, could have got a ticket on the first day as I have a membership card but my dad, brother and girlfriends son does not, after some strings were pulled (not enough imo) I'm on the Kop for this game, as I'm over 6ft I can't say I'm thrilled... hope I'm towards the back so I can stand up all game.

It seams they were selling to some and not to others. I have the card and the points and rang last night. Season tickets only I was told so I left it till this morning

Exactly, it should have been fairly obvious that members could continue to buy them providing they had the correct (low) amount of loyalty points.

Seams some could and some couldn't Bert. I rang last night because the online system said "no" and they told me season tickets only

Bert would have gone down to the ticket office and demanded to see the Head Ticketman.

I thought it was the policy Bert, I'd tried online and it wouldn't let me so I thought I'd ring and they said season tickets only. I checked the ticket info for the game and it did say season ticket holder after the 20th so just took it as policy, who am I to argue? Anyhow I'm in Leeds and wouldn't have made it in time anyway.

Doesn't matter though, got one now mate.

I'm in one of the restricted view seats near the front, & while I'm sure there are some on here that might object to this, I fully plan on standing somewhere at the back for 90 minutes

Just in case anyone didn't believe I rang last night. Like I said, I was told season tickets only. Frustrating cos when I rang there were still a couple left in the Westfield corner.

Should have thought about membership. For the sake of £25 I thought it was worth it and it got me my ticket. Means no more messing around with paper tickets, and I get a free match ticket for a shit game later in the season too.
