Carruthers. What a wanker he is

Proved himself to be a League one play during two spells at this level.

I think Wilder knows that now. He has signed a lot that have come off but a few that have not. Hussey, Wilson, Thomas, Henegham and Carruthers. Sometimes you don't know how they will fit in or if they are up the the challenge.

The fact Slater played today shows he realises he needs to look at other options. I would not be surprised if he starts next week.

Carrthers has had a lot of chances but not sure he has had a good game either starting or from the bench this season- maybe Brentford opening day he was ok.

I expect him and Hanson to be moved on in January and as I say he is only playing as we have four out in this area.

Bit early to write off Thomas and Heneghan to be fair

As someone who went today. The performance from the majority of our midfield was nothing short of diabolical. Caruthers yes was utter toss but the complete lack of connection with our front line and the midfield was incredibly worrying. Especially as no fleck for next couple and Coutts done for the year. Hopefully Misters Duff and Brooks are back available soon.

Bit harsh Treeton, he had (another) poor game, but it's not as if he killed anyone, is it?

He won't be the last Blade to prove that he's not good enough to be here.
Purely tounge in cheek.

He lacks quality to be a consistent Championship performer, is maybe a better way of putting it!

Tough for Carruthers. Yes, he was wank (really wank). But a tough ask to just slot in & perform at a high standard, especially when your midfield partners are having shockers too. Can't really say that any of the three of them showed any leadership today.

In saying that, you do wonder where Carruthers fits really. Got sublime gifts, but if he doesn't impose himself & put it to positive use then what's the point?

The problem Alf was he just didn't put himself about. As poor as a player plays, sometimes we can just be thankful for the effort. Just didn't see it from him today.

Now Clarke ran his socks off all day for virtually nothing - that's the difference.

I was quite supportive of Carruthers before but this thread has made me really angry at him.

Booooooooooooo Carruthers...

He started ok..linked up down the right a couple of times, and a good run down the left, but that was about it...and 2nd half looked shot. Maybe needs more game time to get up to speed,fitnrss...but he had a great opportunity to stake a claim and he fell well short, when he needed to grab it with both hands...not only him who eas shite though today.

All equine puns apart I've felt for a while he was destined for pastures new in January.

Get off your high horse. Have you just said this on the spur of the moment? Would you prefer he hoof it? The midfield are already constantly jockeying for position.

Rein it in.

The problem is none of our midfielders will pull the Trigger from distance. If we want any Silver ware, we'll need to Scout out some more. Though after last season, Carruthers will always be a Champion (the wonder horse).

Something something Rocinante.

Never been a fan from the first time I saw him.

He's what Dave Bassett used to dismissively describe as " a tanner ball player" but since some of you seem to be more interested in equine puns, I give you 'one trick pony'.

Not one of our greatest signings but nobody gets them all right.
